Spardette Spring Show


The Emery High School Spardette Spring Show will be March 19, 7:30 p.m., at the Spartan Center. There will be a small entrance fee.

Cheerleader Spring Show


The Emery High School Cheerleader Spring SHow will be March 22, 5:30 p.m., in the old Emery High gymnasium. There will be a small entrance fee.

Volunteers Needed


Turnquist Retreat in Elmo is looking for volunteers to entertain elderly residents with singing, dancing, playing instruments, visiting, and playing games. You will enjoy the company of the folks at Turnquist. Call 435-653-2555 and ask for Tonya.

Look for Two New Books


The Emery County Domestic Violence Coalition is promoting awareness and education by donating two new books to help with this problem in our community. Check out these books at your own local library. For more information call Kathy Anderson at 381-4743.

A Sunshine Project


Varsity Troop 315 is selling Sunshine (Grade A manure). This money will be used by the troop to pay for summer camp. It’s Track Time


Registration for the Emery County Track Team will be March 13-14 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Emery County Recreation Center. Ages 7-18 will be competing at local track meets, summer games, and out of area meets will be available. Fee includes a T-shirt. 14 events with local meets beginning April 9. Sign up now – 381-2108.

Thinking about continuing your education or getting a degree? Did you know that you can get a degree without moving? Utah State University has a center in Castle Dale. If you are interested, please join us on March 13, at 6 p.m. at the Museum of the San Rafael.

Building Homes Building Lives


Habitat for Humanity of Castle Country is accepting applications for two homes to be built in Castle Dale within the next two years. Board meetings are the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Carbon County Courthouse – everyone welcome – have one board position open. “Pirates of Penzance”


Emery High Drama and the Community Theater will present the Gilbert and Sullivan musical, “Pirates of Penzance” at the EHS auditorium on March 15, 16, and 18, at 7 p.m. Tickets very affordable. Don’t miss this fun and entertaining musical.

3 on 3 Basketball


A “3 on 3” basketball tournament for men, women and youth in grades 4-12 will be March 16 all day at the Emery High Spartan Center. Ferron Babe Ruth Baseball Sign-ups

The parent/teacher conference at Canyon View Jr. High for 2nd semester will be held over two evenings: Tuesday, March 19, and Wednesday, March 20, from 4-7 p.m. Some teachers will be available for just one session as follows: March 19, – David Bird, Tiffany Sorensen, Jackie Weihing, and Doug Mecham; March 20, – Reed Fehlberg, Kathryn Emery, and Creig Cox. No school on March 21.

Presenting LD Singers

CEU Founder’s Day


The College of Easten Utah’s annual Founders’ Day is set for March 23. Events will be groundbreaking for new Reeves Main Building at 4 p.m. at east parking lot on 400 North, a reception for honorees and families at 5 p.m. at the College Center; a dinner at 6 p.m. followed by the awards. Those interested in participating in the alumni choir or making reservations for the dinner can call 435-613-5246.

Cleveland is holding a dinner and auction for long time residents Lester and Shawna Minchey on March 23. Items for the auction can be dropped off at the Cleveland Elementary school during school hours.
