Republican Convention
Emery County Republican Convention will be held at Huntington Elementary on April 18 at 6:30 p.m. All Emery County Republican Delegates must have a picture ID and report to the Credentails Committee for their voting credentials prior to entering the Convention.
Immunization Policy Changes
Effective April 1, the co-pay for VFC immunizations will increase. Medicaid and CHIP can still be billed; must show your card at time of visit. For prices and if you have other questions please call the Southeastern Utah Health Department prior to your visit for immunizations, 381-2252.
Swimming Pool Opening
The Castle Dale Swimming Pool opened on April 8. Aquasize will be Mon.-Fri. 8-9 p.m. Open Swim will be Mon., 4-7 p.m., Monday Family Night 7-9 p.m., Wed., 4-7 p.m., and Sat., Noon-7 p.m. For more information call the pool at 381-5298.
Science and Bible Seminar
Castle Dale Independent Baptist Church presents “Science and the Bible Seminar” by Dr. Bob Glenn on April 9 at 7-8:30 p.m. at the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Building. Take a look at the scientific evidence which explains the formation of this world and its orderly function; a question and answer time after each seminar.
Girls Softball Sign-ups
Registration for Emery County Girls Softball will be April 10, from 4-6 p.m. in Elmo, Cleveland, Huntington, Castle Dale, and Ferron, and 5-7 p.m. in Orangeville. Call Emery County Recreation at 381-2108 for locations, town representatives, and more details.

GR Preservation Roadshow
The Preservation Roadshow offering practical tips on cleaning and preserving your historic family treasurers will be held at the John Wesley Powell Museum in Green River on April 12-13. The Fri., lecture “Caring for Your Collectibles” is from 7:30-9 p.m. A drop-in clinic is all day Sat., from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Six guest presenters will be on hand to help you. Explore Faith Issues
A program titled “No Right Answers-Now What?” is offered on April 19 and 20 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Salt Lake City, by the Episcopal Diocese of Utah for young adults ages 18-26 who are interested in deepening their understanding of who they are as a Christian. MS Walk/Walkers
You can walk for MS (Multiple Sclerosis), sponsor a walker or make a donation. This year’s 4.7 mile walk will be in Provo on April 20, at 9:30 a.m., starting at Fort Utah Park at 100 North Geneva Road. Horse Show Benefits ill Children
On April 20, the West Valley City Fraternal Order of Police will sponsor its 3rd Annual Horseshow at the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park, 11400 South 2072 West, South Jordon. All proceeds from contestant fees will help IHC Pediatric Home Care services to children with life-limiting or terminal illinesses. Admission is free to the public. EHS Blood Drive
Roll up your sleeves and circle April 23 on your calendar. Its our turn to help make sure there is a good supply of blood when needed for our area. The Sterling Scholars are in charge and will help conduct the drive at the high school from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Take a friend to lunch and give blood on the way.
Veteran Outreach Days

Beautification Cleanup
Castle Dale is conducting its Spring Beautification Cleanup. Dumpsters will be at Center and 200 North, 600 North 75 East, 200 West 630 North, and at rodeo grounds100 South 325 East. No curb-side pickup this year; call City Hall if you have something that will not fit in dumpster! The Burn Window continues through April 27. Due to drought conditions, there will be water restrictions; plan your planting and watering needs now.
Lifeguarding Class
