Ross Oliveto
PRICE – Ross Oliveto, age 85, passed away May 16, 2002 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
He was born May 10, 1917 in Sunnyside to William and Isabel Barberio Oliveto. Married Annie Angotti Sept. 16, 1941 in Price.
Ross was the owner and operator of the Airport Service Station in Price for 37 years. His caring and giving for all his customers and exceptional mechanic skills earned him a communitywide reputation as a fair, honest and friendly businessman. Ross was referred to those who knew him as a the man with the “Big Hands” and he was always there to help anyone in need, day or night.
Ross was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who gave all he had both physically and emotionally to his family and he never missed an opportunity to help a friend or neighbor. Ross was fondly referred to as the “Gentle Giant” by Dr. Max Morgan.
Over the years, Ross trained many young employees in the skills of hard work and honest which prepared them for successful careers in their personal and business lives. He touched many lives as an outstanding role model.
Ross received many outstanding business awards from Chevron Oil Company and the Price Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and a life member of the Price Elks Lodge 1550.
Survived by loving wife, Annie Oliveto, Price; daughter, Carol (Earl) Marra, Price; sister, Sally Oliveto, Hayden, Colo.; granddaughter, Machele (Shane) Lemon, Grand Junction, Colo.; Stephanie (Steve) Oviatt, Huntington; Nicole (Rob) Alt, Billings, Mont.; great-grandson and little buddy, Nickolas Ross Oviatt, Huntington; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Merlene Skoglund; brothers, Sam and Dominic Oliveto; sisters, Anne Kaye and Catherine Pero.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at the Heirloom Inn for the wonderful and loving care during his stay there.
Funeral Mass Monday, May 20, at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.

Bonnie Rasmussen
ORANGEVILLE – Our beloved Bonnie Bell Rasmussen, age 71, returned to her Heavenly home May 17, in Price.
She was born in Orangeville on Nov. 3, 1930 to Herald and Faye Stilson Bell. Married Keith Rasmussen Dec. 9, 1949.
She was raised in Orangeville most of her life and enjoyed many hobbies, including riding the four-wheeler, gardening and growing flowers, traveling, and was extremely happy when she had her root beer and ice cream.
Her greatest joy in life came from serving and loving her family.
She was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in many callings in the church, including Sunday School teacher, young women’s, Relief Society presidency, compassionate service director and worked in the Manti LDS Temple. She also served a mission call to Wisconsin.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Rasmussen; children, Colin Keith Rasmussen, Salt Lake; Kimball H. (Barbara) Rasmussen, Orangeville; Sandra (Paul) Oveson, Cleveland; Tami Bell (Calvin) Bennett, Clawson; and Bret M. (Sharon) Rasmussen, Huntington; 22 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Also survied by three brothers, Tom (Margaret) Bell, George (Ann) Bell, Claude (Janet) Bell; sister-in-law, Carol Bell, all of Orangeville. She was preceded in death by parents, one brother, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, May 20, at the Orangeville 1st/2nd Ward LDS Chapel. Interment, Orangeville Cemetery.
Scott Fugate
ORANGEVILLE – After 71 years of life Scott Chadwick Fugate passed away at his home in Orangeville May 15, 2002.
Chad was born in Ferron on Oct. 11, 1930 where he spent his life until marrying Marilyn Cox Jan. 13, 1951.
Soon after marrying Marilyn, he was shipped out to serve his country and returned with combat honors from the Korean Conflict.
Following his service in the U.S. Army, he began raising his family in Kennewick, Wash. While there, he worked at the Hanford Nuclear Power Plant helping to advance nuclear medicine and science.
In 1971, he moved his family to Ferron and began working at the Des-Bee-Dove mine.
Chad retired from Dugway Proving Grounds and moved into the Cox family home in Orangeville.
He and Marilyn served an LDS mission in Houston, Texas.
Chad enjoyed visiting with grandkids, working with wood, and often joked about burning his castoffs and mistakes in the old pot belly stove in his shop.
He is survived by wife, Marilyn (Cox), Chris Chadwick (Debbie) Fugate, Margaret Fugate-Swasey, Ruth McCoard (Mark) Nelson, James Kon (Tish) Fugate, Scott Daniel (Stephanie) Fugate, and numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He follows his parents; Yukon and Maggie (Jensen) Fugate; brother, Vance Fugate; and sister, Virginia (Ginny Fugate) Magliocco in death.
His love, quick wit, and mischievous grin will be missed by friends and family too numerous to mention.
Services will be Tuesday, May 21, noon, at the Orangeville 1st LDS Ward Chapel. A visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Ferron Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale.
Samuel Gibby’ Brasher
SANDY- Samuel Chester “Gibby” Brasher, our loving husband, father and grandfather, peacefully passed away with his family around him on May 16, 2002 at age 84 in Sandy.
Born Oct. 5, 1917 in Huntington to Frances Marion Brasher and Ida May Rowley. Married Ruth N. Otterstrom Nov. 18, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Dad was an avid sports fan; he especially liked the Boston Red Socks. He was quick to tell a story or recite a poem. He loved animals, reading, the outdoors and being a home teacher.
Dad was a coal miner and a farmer. He farmed until he was in his late 70s. He was best known for his unconditional love, humor, friendship and devotion to his family.
Gibby proudly served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Lions Club and worked with the Prevention of Blindness Society.
Survived by wife, Ruth; children, Lynda McBride, Lynn (Barbra) Brasher, JuDee Brasher and Nancy (Robert) Lyons. He was the proud grandfather of Lynn Lyons, Brittany McBride, Chris McBride, Pat Daniels, Chad Briggs, Kari Cannon and Dyke Briggs; 22 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Anona Oliver.
Preceded in death by parents; sister, Elda Burnside; brothers, Marion and Merrill and special son-in-law, Brian McBride. Also preceded in death by best friend, Paul Palmer.
Funeral services Monday, May 20, at the Huntington 4th Ward LDS Chapel.

Carole May De Leon
PRICE/WELLINGTON – Carole May De Leon, age 64, passed away May 16, 2002 in Price after a brief illness.
She was born May 30, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Peter Moroni and Lillie May Jorgensen Gray.
Her kindness and humor will long be remembered by her family and many friends she leaves behind.
She was a lifetime member of the LDS Church.
Carole is survived by daughter and husband, Sheila (David) Marrs, Riverside, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Candace and Erik. Also survived by brother, Thomas Gray.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 21, at 11 a.m. at the Price LDS Stake Center, located at 500 East 100 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Emery Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Edna Norton
PRICE – Edna E. Norton, age 88, passed away May 14, 2002 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 26, 1913 in Victor to Howard S. and May Woolsey Noyes. Edna married Melvin L. Norton June 17, 1933 in Wellington, later solemnized in the Jordon River LDS Temple on their 50th wedding anniversary.
Her love and profession was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother and caring for her beautiful yard, where weeds feared to tread. With her family, she spent countless hours camping, hunting and rockhounding, all the while laughing and telling old stories.
As an active member of the LDS Church, she loved Relief Society and she and her husband attended the LDS temple and enjoyed missionary work.
For nearly four years, she worked as a Pink Lady, sharing her time and love to those in need.
Her life of caring, humor and service will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends she leaves behind.
Edna is survived by her children, Ted (Donna) Norton, Fairview; Bob (Carol) Norton, Salt Lake City; Dale (Ardiene) Norton, Wellington; Carolyn Brady, Price; 15 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Jim, Ben and Lloyd Noyes, all of Price. Preceded in death by husband; grandson, Alan Brady; granddaughter, Ximena Norton; great-granddaughter, Shantell Spring Tweddell; brothers, Walt, Fred and Sylvester; and sisters, Ada and Nelda.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 18, 11 a.m., at the Price 6th Ward LDS Chapel, located at 500 South and 300 West. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, Wellington Cemetery.
Darlene Coleman
PRICE – Our beloved Darlene Ellen Coleman, age 67, passed away May 12, 2002 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family following a brave battle with cancer.
She was born June 30, 1934 in Price to Clarence and Nellie Prettyman Smith. She married Dan Coleman April 6, 1953 in Elko, Nev.
She had been a very hard worker all her life, working as a devoted homemaker and a custodian at several places throughout her life. She enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, crossword puzzles, but her greatest love was being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Coleman, Price; children, Danny G. (Tracie) Coleman, Kathy Coleman, Sharon (Hubert) Wilson, all of Price; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, with one more almost to arrive; brother, Don Smith, Price; and sister, Carol (Bill) Leverton, Cleveland. She was preceded in death by parents; seven brothers and sisters; and daughter, Eileen Coleman.
At her request, a graveside service was conducted at the Cliffview Cemetery in Price on Wednesday, May 15. Interment followed under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.

Irene Frandsen
PRICE/SALT LAKE – Irene White Frandsen, age 85, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away May 14, 2002 in Helper.
She was born Feb. 28, 1917 in Cleveland to George Perry and Elizabeth Richards White. Irene married Glen F. Frandsen March 30, 1937 in Price, later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
As a member of the Price 1st LDS Ward, which she helped to build, she taught Primary for over 25 years and was a visiting teacher for nearly 40 years.
Her life’s work and profession was to be a mother and homemaker.
In addition to her many homemaking skills, she excelled at quilting, donating countless quilts to those in need.
She was a resident of Carbon County for over 60 years, after which she resided in Salt Lake City, making many friends there as well.
She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and countless friends she leaves behind.
Irene is survived by children, Phyllis and Jay Sillitoe, Helper; Stanley and Linda Frandsen, Woodruff; Marlene and Pierre Carlson, Salt Lake; Jolene and Robert Owens, West Valley City; Ted and Janet Frandsen, Salt Lake; daughter-in-law, Carole Frandsen, Boise, Idaho; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by brothers, Joseph White, Thomas White and Ray White; and one sister, Beth. She was preceded in death by husband; son, Kent; sister, Lillian Bond; brother, George White; brother-in-law, Lawrence Johnson; and long time friend, Dora Dean Mathis.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 20, 11 a.m., at the Price 1st LDS Ward, located on 100 South and 500 East, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Fausett Mortuary will be open Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. for those who wish to sign the register. Burial, Price City Cemetery.
