The Huntington Heritage Days Queen Contest was kicked off by the queen pageant on June 6. The contestants competed in princess, junior miss and queen competitions. The princess was the first pageant held with the contestants competing in talent and sports and summer wear competition. Mark Justice was the master of ceremonies and special entertainment was provided by Candice Ungerman, Heritage Days Queen for 2001. Contestants were: Dallas Allred, Jessica Jensen, BrittLee Ward, Caitlin Hansen, Tamra Luke, Savannah Hansen, Adriane Weihing, Kelsi Ekker and Kennedy Kemple. The next pageant was the combined Junior Miss and Miss Heritage Days. These contestants had participated in an interview with the judges previously and the judges and contestants were treated to a luncheon. Mark Justice was the master of ceremonies accompanied by Queen Candice Ungerman and Junior Miss of 2001, Monique Stream. The contestants competed in talent and evening wear competition. Candice also played a piano solo during the tabulation time by the judges. Those competing for Junior Miss were: Mckenzie Fox, Candice Jensen, Brittany Ungerman, Krista Ungerman and Chelsea Killian. Those competing in the Miss competition were Heidi Richards, Luann Roundy, Hannah Jensen, Danielle Fox and Monica Weihing. In the princess competition the winner was Kelsi Ekker with BrittLee Ward, Miss Congeniality, Tamra Luke, 1st attendant and Jessica Jensen, 2nd attendant. In the Junior Miss category the winner was Candice Jensen, Krista Ungerman was the 1st attendant and the other attendants were: Brittany Ungerman, Mckenzie Fox and Chelsea Killian. In the Miss category the winner was Monica Weihing with Luann Roundy, 1st attendant and the other attendants were: Hannah Jensen, Danielle Fox and Heidi Richards.
