The 2002 Utah Cal Ripken District pool play secondary majors was held this year at the Orangeville City Park baseball diamond. The tournament went from June 28- July 2. The three Emery County teams did very well this year.
Emery County (10 and under team) – 1st place; Brian Langston, William (Billie) Mangum, Quinn Montgomery, Jake Nielson, Jeffrey Noyes, Tanner Procarione, Joseph (Joey) Stream, Trynity Young, Gage Bell, Kash Jewkes, Dallyn Ward, coachs; Jason Jewkes, Shawn Bell and Shawn Ward.
Emery County (12 and under team) #1- 3rd place; Mark Defriez, Nick Oviatt, Shawn Deveraux, Kyle Johansen, Camron Stilson, Bryan Larson, Tyler Tuttle, Jaden Mead, Kip Jensen, Justin Poloni, Jeffery Gordon, coaches; Scott Stilson, Jared Norton and Bliss Mead.
Emery County (12 and under team) #2- 1st place; Addison Collard, Derek Allred, Kamron Hansen, Gatlan Huntington, Jason Giles, Justin Cox, Taylor Tanner, Brett Mecham, Colby Snow, Chance Ariotti, bat boy; Chance Huntington, coaches; Mark Tanner, Wayne Huntington, Rick Allred and Curt Collard.
The three teams each advanced to the state tournament in Richfield. The competition started on July 6 and will end on July 13.
