The San Rafael Pro Rodeo came to town on July 25-27. On Thursday night a quarter horse filly colt was given away to Mckenzie Juggert of Ferron. The winner was drawn from the tickets sold that evening. Winners in the barrel racing included Barbara Merrill with a time of 17.63 winning a purse of $842.35. Julianne Wall was 2nd with a time of 17.86. In the calf roping, Justin Truman of Huntington took 1st with a time of 8.4 and winning a purse of $1,216.62. Chet Keetch took 2nd with a time of 8.7. Bryce Miller took 1st in saddle bronc with an 86. He rode the world champion saddle bronc, Dipn Wild Card, he won a purse of $1,184.37. Scott Johnston took 2nd with an 84, Mo Forbes took 3rd with an 82, Tom Reeves took 4th with a score of 81. In the team roping with a score of 5.4 T.J. Collett Jr. and Ty Bingham took first and carried off the purse of $998.61. Second place went to Justin Hodson and Beau Hutchinson with a time of 6.1. In steer wrestling, Darrin Allred took 1st with a time of 5.2 and the purse was $1,322.11. Seth Hadlock was 2nd with a time of 5.5. In bareback Chuck Logue was 1st with a score of 79 and a purse of $1,144.60. In the bull riding Zack Brown was 1st with a score of 86 and a purse of $1,446.85. Zack rode the bull X Leather Head. Ty Reeder was 2nd with a score of 82. Total purse for the rodeo was $34,923. In the wild cow milking contest on Thursday the top milkers were Lee Magnuson and Eric Staley winning a purse of $475. Kash Winn and Steve Barnes took 2nd with a purse of $285. Third place went to Kevin Gordon and Tom Robertson with a purse of $190. On Friday the top milkers were David Allred and Dustin Hinkins winning a purse of $475. Second place went to the team of Kevin Gordon and Tom Robertson with a purse of $285. Third place went to Kash Winn and Steve Barnes with a purse of $190. On Saturday night the top milkers were Lee Magnuson and Eric Statley who also ended up being the overall winners and were given Montana Silver belt buckles for their efforts as well as taking the Saturday purse of $675. Second place winners were Duane Gilbert and Clyde Huntsman winning a purse of $375. Third place went to Tate Weber and Merrill Duncan with a purse of $250.
