PRICE – Kenward Harris McKinney, 77, passed away at home in Price from heart problems on Aug. 6, 2002.
He was born May 25, 1925 in Sacramento, Calif., to Kenneth Gilmore and Edna Cox McKinney. Married Carol Richardson Dec. 24, 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1952.
Ken grew up in Sacramento, Calif. He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He graduated from BYU and had a long career as a geologist working as an engineer with water. His work took him to California, Pakistan, Utah, Florida and Maryland.
At the time of his passing, he was employed at CJ’s Do it center. Ken was active in the LDS church, holding numerous different positions wherever he lived.
Survived by wife and five children, Rynda (Pete) Christensen, Nashville, Tenn.; Dari (Norm) Davis, Springville, Va.; Debbie (Allen) Henrie, Price; Kenna (Jonathan) Onoman, Taylorsville; Bruce (Richelle), McKinney, Draper; 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Stanley and Warren.
Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 9, under the direction of Fausett Mortuary. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
In lieu of flowers, Ken asked that contributions be made to the Perpetual Education Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The family wishes to thank all who have helped so generously.

Dorothy Bailey


FERRON – Our beloved Dorothy Jean Brock Bailey passed away suddenly at her home in Ferron on Aug. 7, 2002 at the age of 72.
She was born May 19, 1930 in Kenilworth, to William “Bill” and Inez Rasmussen Brock. She married Reid William Bailey Aug. 7, 1954 in Ferron and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She enjoyed many hobbies including square dancing, geneaology, reading, crocheting, camping and fishing. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions.
She is survived by children, Scott (Sherrie) Bailey, Ferron: Linda Lee (John) Luce, Oakview, Calif.; special children of Reid’s, Reid William “Bill” Bailey Jr., West Valley City; Lorraine (Jerry) Moreland, Murray; John Wayne (Margaret) Bailey, West Jordan; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Reid William Bailey; Reid’s daughter, Carolyn Bailey; and brother, Dan Baker.
Funeral services will be held in the Ferron Millsite LDS Ward Chapel, (red building), Tuesday, August 13, at 2 p.m. A viewing will also be held prior to the funeral at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment, Ferron City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale.

Brian Robertson


HUNTINGTON – Our beloved Brian Eric Robertson, 47, passed away at his home Aug. 12, 2002 surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born June 27, 1955 in Oildale, Calif., to Uel Olen and Marjorie Cook Robertson. He married Rebecca Rae Brunn Sept. 7, 1974 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Brian had many things in life that brought him joy and happiness including genealogy, scouting, coaching high school softball and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His greatest joy in life was his family and spending time with them.
He is survived by wife, Rebecca Robertson, Huntington; children, Adaire (Nash) Baltzer, Salt Lake City; Christy (Bruce) Yost, Castle Dale; Elise (Jerod) Curtis, Orangeville; Heather (Casey) Alton, Huntington; Lindsey Robertson, also of Huntington; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Olen McKenzie (Peggy) Robertson, Brighton, Colo.; Ralph Cook (Rhonda) Robertson, Casper, Wyo.; and Robert Cook (Krista) Robertson, Provo. He was preceded in death by parents.
Friends may call for visitation at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale Wednesday, Aug. 14, 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m in the Huntington Cemetery with interment to follow.

Clyde Johnson


HUNTINGTON – Clyde Upton Johnson, age 96, passed away Aug. 12, 2002 in Price.
He was born Aug. 6, 1906 in Huntington to Lewis William and Louisa Westover Johnson.
He worked as an auto mechanic and barber in Huntington for many years. He enjoyed music and sang in the Huntington Glee Club and played in the senior citizens kitchen band.
He is survived by one brother, Kenneth Johnson of Idaho, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers.
Graveside services will be Monday, Aug. 19, 1 p.m., in the Huntington Cemetery, under the direction of Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale.

Rose Beckley


HELPER/ST. LOUIS, Miss. – Rose DeRose Cox Beckley, age 81, passed away Aug. 11, 2002 at Castleview Hospital.
She was born April 17, 1921 in Sunnyside, to Frank and Caroline Sicilia DeRose. Married O. Leroy Cos Sept. 16, 1944. He died Nov. 18, 1965. Married Jesse Edward Beckley Oct. 1967 in St. Louis, Mo. He died January 1978.
Rose was a longtime resident of Helper and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and music.
Survived by two daughters and one son, Linda Eyster, Manchester, Mo.; Carolyn (Don) Burgener, Kansas City, Mo.; son, Michael (Patricia) Cox, Fenton, Mo.; brother, Louie (Lena) DeRose, Springville; sisters, Florence Johnson, Helper; Millie (Nick) Georgedes, Corte Madera, Calif.; Carm DeRose, Helper; five grandchildren and one lovely great-granddaughter.
Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral Home Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Committal service Thursday, Aug. 16, Resurrection Cemetery, St. Louise. Mo. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
