Green River High School is buzzing with excitement as the Christmas holiday draws closer and the spirit of the season infects everyone. All of this past week, classes have been busy decorating their halls for the season. The competitive atmosphere is effecting everyone as each class hurries to get their decorations hung and be the first ones with that particular idea so they aren’t accused of “copying” another class. There is a lot of good-natured joking and teasing. School spirit and pride is evident throughout the school and in all the work and effort put forth by each class in decking the halls.
Pirate basketball is going full swing. The boy’s team played Wayne on Dec. 6 and won 62-56. They played at home on Dec. 20 against Piute. The Lady Pirates played Grand on Dec. 10 and lost 41-48 after a tough fight. They also played Tabiona on Dec. 12 and won 42-37, despite the fact that two starters fouled out. The boys basketball team is undefeated at 4-0 as of Dec. 19 and the girls team stands at 3-7.
