The San Rafael Junior High Bulldogs Team-Tournament Champions.

For the second year in a row, the boy’s basketball championship of the Castle Valley Athletic Association featured the San Rafael Bulldogs and the Canyon View Cougars.
Unlike last year though, this time the Bulldogs fought through a 13-point halftime deficit to claim the tournament championship, with a 64-61 victory.
The Canyon View Cougars came into the game as the regular season champions, having already defeated the Bulldogs twice this season. They were also the two time defending tournament champions.
This night and this year belonged to the San Rafael Bulldogs though. After trailing at the half 35-22, the Bulldogs outscored the Cougars 20-14 in the third period and 22-12 in the fourth quarter to claim the victory.
Darrin Winn had 18 points, Josh Eden had 17 points and Trevor Thompson had 11 points to pace the Bulldogs in scoring. Jake Jones added eight points and Landon Thomas and Eric Nielson added five each.
For the Cougars, David Justice led the way with 35 points. Tate Jensen and Vic Rosen had seven each to aid the Cougar cause. Also scoring were Bruce Bell with six points, Luke Stoddard with four points and David Acosta with two points.
