Tom Jensen


PRICE – Tom D. Jensen, age 69, passed away March 23, 2003 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
Born June 20, 1933 in Elmo, to Joe and Chloe Oviatt Jensen. Married Jane Toner, later divorced.
Tom was an active member of the Price Elks Lodge 1550, where he enjoyed his many longtime friends and brothers from the Elks. He was a former longtime resident of Rock Springs, Wyo., where he worked for FMC, Allied and General Chemical as a safety manager, and MSHA as a federal inspector for five years. Tom was very proud of his four loving granddaughters.
The family wishes to thank his dear friend and physician Dr. Max Morgan and staff. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by son, Tom E. (Brenda) Jensen, Rock Springs, Wyo.; companion, Rosina Siaperas, Price; four granddaughters, Clanci (Slade) Hawks, Magna; Kasie (Dominic) Wolf, Ormond Beach, Fla.; Carrie Merrow, Rock Springs, Wyo.; Sara (Robert) Cheney, Ormond Beach, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Terri Merrow; two brothers and two sisters.
Memorial service Thursday, March 27, 10 a.m., Price Elks Lodge. Family will be at the Elks Thursday one half hour prior to service.

Bud Peterson


WELLINGTON – Clarence R. “Bud” Peterson, age 73, passed away March 22, 2003 at his home.
Born Aug. 9, 1929 in Altoona, Pa., to Harrison Egan and Elizabeth Peterson. Married Shirley L. Wheaton Nov. 24, 1983 in Price.
“Bud” honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea from 1947 to 1956, where he was a POW for 33-1/2 months. He was a life member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2379 and a life member of the DAV #16 in Price. Retired from the Teamsters Union Local 222 with 35 years of service. “Bud” was a resident of Carbon County since 1973 and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Survived by wife, Shirley Peterson, Wellington; three sons and one daughter, Skipper (Kim) Noone, Price; Bruce Noone, Price; Luke Noone, Mesquite, Nev.; Karla Schade, Price; nephew, Merl Travers, Twenty Nine Palms, Calif.; brother-in-law, William (Jan) Wheaton, Sextonville, Wis.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Chuck Egan; and sister, Mona Powers.
Memorial service Friday, March 28, 1 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s one half hour prior to service. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.

Evelyn Patton


PRICE – Evelyn Marie Gresham Patton, age 73, passed away March 22, 2003, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 18, 1929 in Snyder, Okla., to Thomas Alvie and Lurlene Pearson Gresham. Evelyn married Arville Lee Patton Dec. 16, 1945 in Brownfield, Texas, and they had two children, Larry and Shirley.
Evelyn was very active in her church, not only as the pastor’s wife, but as the church pianist and Sunday school teacher. Evelyn has been a pastor’s wife for 48 years as she and Arville pastored in eight churches throughout Texas, Colorado and Utah. As a pastor’s wife she shared her life with many, through her graciousness, great sense of humor and loving compassion.
Survived by husband, Arville Patton, Price; son, Larry (Lori) Patton, Killeen, Texas; daughter, Shirley (Aleck) Shilaos, Price; sisters, Dean (Raymond) Haywood, Brownfield, Texas; Juanita (Bill) Click, Weeches, Texas; brother, Wayne (Nelma) Gresham, Albuquerque, N.Mex.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; brother, JD Gresham; grandson, Aleck Shilaos, Jr.
Funeral service Wednesday, March 26, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s’ Tuesday, 7 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Friends are welcome at Mitchell’s daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Interment, Price City Cemetery.

Matthew Scovill


HUNTINGTON – Matthew Scovill, age 27, died March 23, 2003.
He was born Feb. 28, 1976 to Neal and Diana Scovill.
Matthew graduated from Emery High School. He worked for Nielson Construction for the past nine years. Matthew enjoyed camping.
He is survived by parents; brother, Don (Jennifer) Scovill; sister, Layna (Don) Johnson; grandfather, Thomas Reed Livingston; nieces and nephew, Misty, Misha, Kylie and Josh. Preceded in death by three grandparents.
He was greatly loved and will be missed and remembered always.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 26 at 11 a.m., Huntington LDS 3rd Ward under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will meet one hour prior to services at the ward chapel. Interment in the Huntington City Cemetery.

Dal Wells


WELLINGTON – Dal Pierce Wells, 78, passed away at his home in Wellington March 22, 2003.
He was born March 24, 1924 in Victor to James Kershew and Vena Mae Pierce Wells. He married Colleen Snyder March 12, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. His love was farming and his family. He was a member of the LDS Church and served many callings including a mission to the Northwestern States Mission.
He is survived by wife, Colleen; children, Glen (Tammy) Wells, Cheryl (Arnold) Cooper, Paula (Kim) Noyes, all of Wellington; Ted (Margaret) Wells, Price; 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother, Robert; sisters, Leah, Anne, Patsy, Verna. He was preceded in death by parents; twin stillborn daughters; brothers, Ray and Lynn; and granddaughter, Frankie Nicole Noyes.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Fausett Mortuary in Price Monday, March 24, 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 25, 11 a.m., at the Wellington LDS Stake Center with a viewing one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.
