Principal Larry Davis reads a poem he wrote to the audience.

Canyon View Closing Program
The Canyon View Junior High held their closing program on May 16 in the gym. The audience was welcomed by class president, Vic Rosen. He honored a special friend in his life, school secretary, Roma Brotherson. Principal Larry Davis spoke of the time he had spent getting to know the students who are now leaving the school. He started his first year as principal when this class arrived as seventh graders. He said they grew up together. They went through the terrors of September 11 together and the loss of a classmate this school year, Burton Brown, together. Davis read a poem that he had written.
The girls chorus performed under the direction of David Bird. Heidi VanWagoner was the top achieving female student and Patrick Fehlberg was the top male student. These students addressed the audience. A slide show was presented which showed the students and their achievements throughout the year.
