25 Year Anniversary for Dr. Ron Sanders and Staff

Dr. Ronald Sanders has been serving patients at the same location for 25 years.

The Castle Chiropractic Center is celebrating 25 years of chiropractic care for Emery and Carbon counties. Dr. Ronald Sanders said, “I grew up in California and graduated from high school in Madera, Calif. I went to Brigham Young University for one year and was majoring in the physical sciences. After the first year at BYU, I took a two year period and went on a LDS mission to Bolivia and had a wonderful experience with the people there.
“Upon returning, I went to Fresno City College for one year and earned my associates degree, then went to the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. This was another four year course where I did very well. I was on the Dean’s list and received my bachelor of science and then received my doctorate degree and graduated on Jan. 15, 1977.
“I went into practice in Orem with a couple of doctors getting the feel of how to actually start a practice. Six months later, in the fall of 1977, I came to Price, where I worked with Dr. Kenneth Thayne. I was there for six months until I decided to start my own practice. I opened my practice on June 21, 1978 in Castle Dale. I have practiced at the same location, 46 East Main Street. I purchased the barbershop from Lee Peterson. We renovated and then added on later expanding it to a larger facility.
“I married Patricia Cope from Spanish Fork. We have been married for 29 years and have seven children and six grandchildren.
“I have enjoyed living in Castle Dale and Emery County. I love the small town influence and the effect that it has on my family. I enjoy the friendly good people that I have had the pleasure of serving over these past 25 years. I have also had the good fortune of having good employees. Marilyn Behunin has been in the office for 18 years. She works with the patients and at the front desk. Ruanne Leeflang has been in our office over 12 years. She is our insurance specialist and also helps with the patients.
“In October 2002 my son, Eric joined the practice after graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic Magna Cum Laude. Eric grew up in Emery County and married Mara Guymon from Huntington. They have three children and are expecting another in July.

Dr. Eric Sanders recently joined the practice.

“It has been great to have my son working with me. He is very talented and a great influence in our office. We look forward to serving the public for many more years. We are very grateful to the people of Emery and Carbon counties for their great support over the years.
“I first became familiar with chiropractic when I myself was a patient. My father also suffered with a lot of back problems because of an injury he received while in the military.
“Because of the successful treatment of both of us, I became interested in chiropractic,” said Dr. Sanders.
The chiropractic center offers many different services to the patients and has implemented all of the advancements in chiropractic over the years.
“I have had a great interest in clinical nutrition and have utilized nutritional supplements in helping my patients. We see a lot of stress related injuries now as opposed to the industrial related accidents and back strain injuries which we had more of when I first opened my practice.
“I also work with kinesology where you can ask questions through a muscle test approach and find out how to adjust the spine and other joints of the body.
“Through new technology we are also able to help surgery patients,” said Dr. Sanders.
In celebration of the 25 years of support from the communities, an open house for the public and patients will be held at the office on June 20 from 2-4 p.m. and prize drawings will be held.
