Darrell Boren
Darrell Junior Boren, 59, passed away Dec. 4, 2003 in Provo, from complications of pneumonia. He was born Sept. 4, 1944 in Vernal to Darrell and Freda Smuin Boren. He married Carolyn Johnson Boren and she later passed away. He then married Bonnie Schexnider in Salt Lake City.
Darrell was retired from Western Coal Carriers and a member of the U.M.W.A. Local 1902. He served in the US Army. He loved fishing, hunting, boating and was an outdoors man. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 42 in Ferron.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie; children: Holly (Brad) Powell, Tracey (Glen) Herring, Chris (Kelly) Boren, Boyd (Rose) Nielsen, Barry (Stacy) Nielsen, Walter “Wally” Boren. Darrell is also survived by 18 grandchildren and his special lifelong friends Leon and Sharon Crandall. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carolyn; grandson Johnathon Hawk Boren; one brother, eight sisters and their family members.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale on Dec. 9 from Noon-2 p.m. A graveside service will follow in the Ferron City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Lois Cook
PRICE-Lois Ann Cook, age 37, passed away Dec. 2, 2003 in Layton.
Born July 12, 1966 in Salt Lake City to Larry and Eileen Ledesma Freeman.
Lois enjoyed spending time with her children and taking in children that needed a home.
Survived by children, Meranda (Kevin) Saccomano, Helper; Bobby Cook, Helper; Cody McDonald, Price; Dylan Keele, Price; parents Larry (Andrea) Freeman, Price; Eileen Davis, Colorado; five brothers and one sister, Leland Freeman, Colorado; Allen (Pearl) Freeman, Colorado; Roger Freeman, Price; Larry Freeman, Price; Louis Elmer, Manti; Emilia Zazueta, Price; and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Michael Keele; and grandfather, Gabrial Ledesma.
Memorial services were held on Dec. 6 at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Albert Salzetti
PRICE-Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Albert Carl Salzetti, age 92, passed away Dec. 3, 2003 in Price.
He was born Oct. 3, 1911 in Dawson, N.M., to Serafino and Genoveffa Ciccone Salzetti. Married Fawn Coleman on Oct. 15, 1940 in Price.
Member of the Catholic Church. Longitme resident of Price. He started working in the coal mines at age 14, where he worked in various mines in Carbon County.
Albert and his wife, Fawn, owned and operated the Center Market in Price for 26 years. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing with his family.
Albert loved to play a friendly game of pinochle. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Survived by loving wife, Fawn, Price; three sons, Jim (Becky) Salzetti, Los Angeles, Calif.; Carl Salzetti, Price; Ron (Kay) Salzetti, San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Guido (Irene) Salzetti, Spring Glen; Edward (Paula) Salzetti, Salt Lake City; Raymond (Lois) Salzetti, East Carbon; and sister Eda Ewell. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; grandson, John; brothers Armando and Fred; and sisters Sestina and Marge.
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 6 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil services held Friday evening at Mitchell Funeral Home. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.
William “Bill” E. Failor
PRICE-William “Bill” E. Failor, age 77, passed away Dec. 6, 2003 at home while surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Dec. 19, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Harry Edward and Edith Moon Failor. Bill was raised in Shelbina and Hannibal, Mo. where he later served in the US Air Force during WWII from April 1943 to February 1946.
Married Lois Ada Moore, Feb. 5, 1946 in Ely, Nev.
Bill lived in Quincy, Ill. where he worked construction for 16 years. In 1961 he moved to Salt Lake City where he started working for Mountain Fuel Supply (Questar Gas) and in August of 1966 the family moved to Price. Bill retired as service man #1 in 1986 with 25 years of dedicated service.
He loved going camping, hunting, fishing and sharing his garden with all. Bill loved his family and friends and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bill loved helping others and everyone will dearly miss his wonderful smile and great sense of humor.
Survived by his loving wife and companion of 57 years, Lois Failor, Price; son, Jeffrey Alan (Julie) Failor, Wellington; daughters, Jody (Wesley) Whitman, Rifle, Colo.; Dawna (Doug) Downard, Huntington; brothers, Richard (Sharon) Failor, Lebannon, Tenn.; James Failor, Harold Failor, both of Quincy Ill.; sisters, Mary Weihl, Wichita, Kan.; Hallie (Homer) Benson, New Buffalo, Mich.; Margaret Nixon, Big Spring, Texas; special cousin, Ken Failor; 15 loving grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents, son, David; sisters, Georgia Turnbough, Opal Pass, Elsa Rampela; and his beloved granddaughter, Misti Irene Downard.
Funeral service, Dec. 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Jennie O. Felice
PRICE-Jennie O. Felice born April 8, 1926 in Sunnyside, died unexpectedly Dec. 6, 2003 in Salt Lake City.
Jennie was the daughter of Louis and Elena Mele Oliveto. The family spent their time working together in their business and the last five years she helped her sister, Helen.
Jennie shared the past 56 years with the love of her life, Rudy. They enjoyed traveling abroad, spending time in Park City, going to the theater, opera and symphony.
She is survived by Rudy; their two sons, Ron (his wife Joan) and Robert (Sharon); three grandchildren, Douglas (Claudette), Johanna (Andy) and Elizabeth. Jennie enjoyed watching her three great-grandchildren grow, Mikenzie, Maxx and Isabella and was looking forward to the arrival of Katherine Grace any day.
Memorial Mass held Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic church. Vigil service was held Dec. 2 at Mitchell Funeral Home. Private interment.
Her desire for living and sense of humor will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Notre Dame Catholic Church in Price or St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Park City.
