Joe’s Valley Marina and Cafe offer many services to visitors.

Joe’s Valley Marina and Cafe
Joe’s Valley Marina and Cafe, located on the West side of the Lake, has been owned and operated by Sharpe and Seretia Show and family since July 25, 1979.
Sharpe and the kids had a dream that they could make a nice recreation area for the county and also those people from other places.
They decided to cater a dinner for the Association of Local Government their first year at the Marina. This event brought Exxon, and also Congressman Nielson’s aide. Many others were also brought to the area.
They were so pleased with the response, they decided to cater for clubs, parties and family reunions. Several weddings have also been held at the Marina.
The most fun and excitement was Shawn Bradley’s farewell party before he went on his mission. The Emery County Chamber of Commerce sponsored this event, so many people helped and came out.
Sharpe and the kids feel Seretia’s kitchen has been what has kept them going. For years, she made all her own pies and breads. She even made the hamburger buns for years.
Even though several poor water years have come and gone, Sharpe still rents the boats and the docks he made and still maintains. Seretia still cooks and has her gift shop where she sells the crafts made by many local crafters.
Because of health reasons, the Marina is closed during the week and is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Snows love the people and feel a great love for the business they have built, and will try to keep the Marina open this year. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. for the kitchen and the shop is open 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. Sharpe goes up three day during the week to rent the boats and keep the Marina maintained.
Sharpe and Seretia and kids thank the Lord everyday for all the wonderful people who have supported and loved them for so many years. The Snows thank the Emery County Progress for giving them a chance to tell their story.

Trail Mountain Resort offers cabins by the day, week or long term stays.

Trail Mountain Resort
Blaine Luke, operator of Trail Mountain Resort at Joe’s Valley, has a variety of accommodations available for the visitor to the area. On the parcel of land, owned by the U. S. Forest Service, and leased on a long term basis to Luke, there are facilities to accommodate everyone. Blaine has retired from his Utah State Parks position and plans to spend much more time at the resort.
For the past six years, the drought has caused many boaters to stay away from Joe’s Valley, but the water level is up this year and boats have access to the water. Not only is the lake great for water skiing, but the fishing is great also. Emery County is planning to construct a low water boat ramp in the near future that will enable access to the water no matter what the conditions.
Joe’s Valley is the ideal place to spend a few days of a week away from the crowds and enjoy the outdoor experience. Blaine and the Trail Mountain Resort can provide visitors with camping spots, reunion sites, cabin rentals, and he has plans to open the restaurant next season.
For the visitor who has his own RV, there are campsites available by the night, by the weekend or on a long term basis. If someone is coming without an RV, newly remodeled cabins are available for daily, weekly, monthly or long term needs. For the outdoorsman who wants an ongoing experience, Blaine has spots to rent or lease for RVs on a continuing basis. Many of the RV sites are for year round use.
Family reunions and company parties would be great to have at Trail Mountain Resort. There is a nice, covered pavilion with tables to accommodate those needs. Showers and restrooms are available at the resort.
Not only is the lake, with all it has to offer like fishing, boating and swimming, nearby, but the mountain setting of Trail Mountain Resort offers hiking, ATV riding trails, horse riding, all with spectacular views.
Trail Mountain Resort will be open all weekends and holidays through the big game hunts this fall. There are many openings for reservations. To contact Blaine Luke for reservations or more information, call 1-435-564-3235 or 1-435-749-1102, or email at bluke@etv.net.
