SALT LAKE CITY – Saundra Kay (Martinez) Richardson, loving daughter and dedicated mother returned to her Heavenly Father on Sept. 1, 2004.
Born June 28, 1972 in Salt Lake City, to Efren Martinez and Lynda Garcia Martinez.
Raised in Salt Lake City.
She is survived by daughter, Gina Michelle Richardson. Also survived by sisters, Effie (Martinez) Laub, Bucyrus, Ohio; Destini Martinez, Salt Lake City; beloved soul mate, Korosh Keyvani, Salt Lake City; eight nephews and one niece; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by sister, Victoria Lynn (Martinez) Turpin.
We love you Sandy and we will miss your beautiful smile.

Clyde Huntington
SUNNYSIDE – Clyde Evan Huntington, age 60, passed away Sept. 5, 2004 at his home.
Born Oct. 13, 1943 in Price to Hyrum A. and Melva E. Henrie Huntington. Married Robyn Ann Casella in 1963 in Elko, Nev.; they later divorced.
Longtime resident of Carbon County and graduate of East Carbon High School Class of 1963. Worked in various coal mines in the area and was a retired member of the United Mine Workers of America, Kaiser Local 9958. He was a man of great ambitions and he always had many projects in the works. Clyde was presently employed with Sunnyside City. He was an avid horseman, outdoorsman and he had a great love for animals and square dancing. Clyde was well respected and loved by all who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by loving companion, Patsy Nielsen, Sunnyside; sons, Lonnie C. Huntington, Wendover; Sean E. Huntington, Salt Lake City; three brothers, Melvin A. (Roxie) Huntington, Ferron; D.K. Huntington, Sunnyside; Kenneth (Karen) Huntington, Atchison, Kans.; four sisters, Ramona (Darrel) Monson, Ogden; Connie (David) Paxman, Cedar Hills; Phyllis (Richard) Maggio, Green River, Wyo.; Alice (Randy) Ferguson, Las Vegas, Nev.; and grandsons, Sage Evan and Chase Avery Huntington. Preceded in death by parents; and son, Mikie K. Huntington.
Funeral service Sat., Sept. 11, 11 a.m., East Carbon LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Valley View Cemetery.
Clyde D. Kay
1931~2004
NEPHI/Clyde Donnell Kay, age 73, passed away Sept. 12, 2004 of heart failure.
He was born June 28, 1931 in Nephi to Newton Ernest and Alta Nielson Kay. He married Onieta Colleen Worwood in September of 1950. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She later passed away. He married Darlene Freston on May 18, 1996 in the Manti Temple.
He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission with Darlene to the Illinois Chicago Temple. He was an active member of the Good Sam’s Club, enjoying camping and traveling. He served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife Darlene of Nephi; children, Karl (Gail) Kay of Lawrence; Kenneth (Carolyn) Kay of Castle Dale; Terry (Lori) Kay and Sandra (Terry) McArthur both of Huntington; Susan (Steven) Bell of Orangeville; Gordon Kay of Tacoma Park, Md.; 35 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; father, Newton Kay of Nephi; brother, Rex Kay of Nephi; sisters, Karen (Boyd) Mickel of Spring City; Reva (John) Maughn of Nephi; step-children, Keith (Becky) Sperry, Kim (Theresia) Sperry, Lisa (Alden) Orme all of Nephi; Clinton (Gayla) Sperry of Logandale, Nev. Preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen, mother and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wed., Sept. 15, 2004 in the Nephi 1st Ward, 222 South 100 East. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North Nephi. Interment in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
Jack Snowball
PRICE – Jack (John) W. Snowball, age 83, passed away Sept. 10, 2004 at his home in Price.
Born Aug. 5, 1921 in Payette, Idaho to John Willard and Nellie Helen Barlow Snowball.
Jack was a born again Christian and accepted the extended hand of Jesus Christ on Sept. 10, 2004. Jack married the love of his youth, Mary DeSimone on Jan. 15, 1942. Jack an Mary spent many years working hard and raising their family. Both were always there giving and helping someone in need. Mary went home on March 18, 1977. On July 18, 1978 he married Geraldine (Geri) Coleman. Jack and Geri both had a zest for life. They were friends as well as husband and wife. They enjoyed many years of retirement including winters in Arizona with their friends, traveling and doing just about anything they wanted. Geri left this earth on Feb. 22, 2004.
Jack was raised in Nevada and Idaho and at the age of 14 was on his own. He had many interesting stories to tell about riding the rails and surviving the depressing. Jack served in the United States Air Force in World War II. He was a member of the famous 351st bombardment group and spent 33 months in England at Polbrook Air Force Base. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 3 for over 50 years. He was known in many areas of the United States for his expertise in operating heavy equipment. Jack was an honorary life member of the Price Elks Lodge 1550 and the UMWA as well as a member of the Carbon County Sheriff’s Posse for many years. He enjoyed his horses and had a kind heart toward animals.
Till the very end Jack maintained his quiet strength, character and dignity. He was a true gentleman. Dear Poppie, we will miss your words of wisdom, incredible wit and never ending support in the worst of times.
Survived by daughters, Darlene Gibson, Burley, Idaho; Jackie (Jerry) Majors, New Orleans, La.; Mary Helen (Jerry) Shiew, Price; stepson, John (Ann) Dubois, Price; stepdaughter, Ginger (Dale) Bradley, Granbury, Texas; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren.
Funeral service Tues., Sept. 14, 5 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday one hour prior to service.
Floyd McKee
PRICE-Floyd McKee, 82, of Price, passed away Sept. 8, 2004. Born April 7, 1922, a son of Bert and Eliza May Sherman McKee. He married Reva Gordon Marshall McKee on June 26, 1955 in Salt Lake City.
Floyd is a member of the LDS Church. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and retired from Utah Power and Light in 1986. He enjoyed traveling with the Good Sam’s and prospecting.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, one son Kim (Laurie) McKee of Kemmerer, Wyo., three stepchildren Bob (Beth) Marshall of Huntington, Donna (Garth) Stokes of West Jordan, Pam (Tom) Brereton of Castle Dale, two sisters Velma Anderson of Carbonville and Hazel McMullin of Cleveland, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two gransdsons Christopher Brereton and Robert June Marshall, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Mon. Sept. 13, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Spring Glen LDS Chapel. A viewing was held Sunday evening at Fausett Mortuary in Price. Interment in the Huntington City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Phebe Judd
Springville – Phebe C. (Carol) Booth Judd, 92, died on Sept. 5, 2004 at the home of her son Gary, surrounded by her sons and other family members. She was born Oct. 15, 1911 in Daniel to Zadock and Mary Luella Anderson Bethers.
She married Melvon L. Booth, Aug. 17, 1935. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After his passing, Sept. 27, 1972, she married Stanley R. Judd, on Jan. 15, 1976. He died March 19, 1995.
She is survived by her sons; Jack L. Booth (Lois) West Valley City, Gary M. Booth (Sharra) Springville; step-daughters, Joyce Jones (Keith) and Charlotte Greener (Dennie) both of Bellevue, Washington, Marilyn Manwaring (Verdon) of Vernal; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 21 step-grandchildren, 44 step-great-grandchildren, 13 step-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Millie Gurr (Earl) of Provo; and a brother, Allen Bethers, of Daniel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruby Plummer and brother Rex Bethers.
Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, noon, at the Springville Kolob Stake Center, 1250 South 500 East, Springville. Friends may call at the Stake Center from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Berg Mortuary of Provo.
Pauline Martin
PRICE – Pauline Martin, age 94, passed away Sept. 10, 1004 at the Heirloom Inn.
She was born June 12, 1910 in Pittsburg, Kan. to Charles and Jesse Morrison King, and later adopted by James L. and Mamie Powell. Married William Martin Aug. 29, 1934 in Kansas City, Mo.; he passed away March 4, 1976.
Mom was the sweetest, gentlest, most loving person on earth. She taught us to believe we could accomplish anything we wanted to do. She instilled in us the importance of family values, dedication and love. Mom always had a smile on her face and a thank you for everyone. Her favorite pastime was playing Yahtzee with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be forever loved and sorely missed.
We would like to thank the angels among us who work at the Heirloom for taking such loving care of mom.
Survived by two sons and three daughters, William Wayne (Dorothy B.) Martin, Margaret Ann (Edward L.) Ellis, both of Price; Betty Jo (K. John) Brasher, Spring Glen; Bonnie Sue (Bert B.) Boren, West Haven; John Charles Martin, Price/Beaver Dam, Ariz.; 15 loving grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, William; daughter, Nancy Mary Martin; brothers, Raymond King, Warren Powell, Wayne Powell and James Powell.

Arnold Montie Snow
PRICE/SALT LAKE CITY-Arnold Montie Snow, 87, died peacefully in the early morning hours on Sept. 13, 2004, at his home in Salt Lake City. He was born Feb. 15, 1917, in Orangeville to Arnold and Bessie Robertson Snow. He was the oldest of four children. He married Evelyn Branch in the Manti Temple on Oct. 15, 1940. Montie was a devoted husband, loving father and caring grandfather and great-grandfather.
Montie was a graduate of Carbon High School where he was a member of the football team. He was also a member of the Carbon High School band and marched at the Chicago World’s Fair. He was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For many years he was the Bishop of the Price 4th Ward. During this time, the 4th Ward chapel was built and dedicated. He was a member of the High Council for the Carbon Stake and served in many other callings and positions. He was an Eagle Scout. He received his Master M-Men Award. He served an honorable mission in the Southern States Mission. He was an active member of the Price Rotary Club and past-president. He was a Paul Harris Fellow. He and his wife Evelyn served as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple for many years. For 47 years he was a newspaper distributor for Newspaper Agency in Southeastern Utah, distributor of the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune. He retired at age 81.
Montie is survived by his children Diana Johnson, Salt Lake City, Marcia (Ray O.) Madsen, Puyallup, Wash., Arnie R. Snow, Henderson, Nev.; grandchildren Scott P. Johansen, Jill (Jari) Bartschi, Sandra (Drake) Clarke, Christopher R. (April) Madsen, Ryan M. Madsen, Erik D. (Jennifer) Madsen, Nancy (Mark) Johnson, Andrew R. Madsen, Matthew T. Snow, Katie Snow, Cathie Snow and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Bulah Tabone, Bonnie Mae Bushman and Arnolene (Norman) Anderson and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, eternal companion and sweetheart Evelyn who passed away on Aug. 5. 2004, son-in-law Paul M. Johansen, granddaughter Sallie Snow, brothers-in-law Pete Tabone and Mel Bushman.
Funeral services will be held Thurs. Sept. 16, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Price 4th Ward Chapel, 545 East 400 North, Price. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 680 East 100 South, Price, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Park Drive, Salt Lake City at 3 p.m. on Thursday under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Efren Martinez
HELPER/SALT LAKE – Devoted father, grandfather, brother and uncle Arthur Efren Martinez, age 56, returned to his heavenly father on Sept. 11, 2004.
Born June 22, 1948 in Price to the late Fermin and Josephine Benevidez Martinez. Married Lynda Garcia Martinez, later divorced.
He was a graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1966, and served in the U.S. Army which included a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. He was awarded with two Commendation Medals for heroism. Member of the Catholic Church.
We love you and miss you dearly daddy. We have you forever in our hearts.
Survived by two daughters, Effie Martinez Laub, Ohio; Destini Martinez, Salt Lake City; two granddaughters; eight grandsons, Bernell (Eva) Martinez, Helper; Nio (Pearl) Martinez, Rock Springs, Wyo.; Fermin Martinez, Kennewick, Wash.; Jerry Martinez, Colorado; sister, Rosalie Arlene Martinez, Las Vegas, Nev.; and many loving nieces and nephews who will miss his sense of humor. Preceded in death by parents; daughters, Saundra Kay Martinez Richardson; Victoria Lynn Martinez Turpin; and sister, Stella Duran Gomez.
