The Emery High golf team is currently in fourth place in Region 8 as they also battle to make it to the state tournament.
Emery hosted the other region teams last week at Millsite and took fourth in that meet. As has been the trend for sometime, the Delta Rabbits are ranked first, the Lehi Pioneers are second, the Carbon Dinos are third and the North Sanpete Hawks are fifth.
Derek Brotherson is leading the team in scoring and is currently ranked 12th in region play. The other top seven golfers on the team are all underclassmen, which bodes well for future teams at Emery.
The Spartans have two region meets left and then State at East Bay in Provo on Oct 6-7.
