Clawson Animal Clinic and Registration


Clawson Town will be holding the annual dog registration and vaccination clinic on Feb. 26 from 10 a.m.-noon. Emery Animal Clinic personnel will be on site to administer necessary vaccinations.

Know Before You Go


A Know Before You Go ATV permit class will be held March 4 at the county building in Castle Dale at 7 p.m. This class is to make youth ages 8-16 legal to drive on public lands. Scrapbook Expo


A scrapbook expo will be held March 12 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Emery County Recreation building in Castle Dale. Bring your own paper cutter, adhesive and a lot of friends. Open crop space available for a small fee. Come visit booths and make your favorite layouts.

Lincoln Day Breakfast


A Lincoln Day breakfast steak buffet is being hosted by the Emery County Republican Party at 9 a..m. on Feb. 26 at the Critter Country Fixins’ located 336 West Highway 29, Castle Dale. Speakers will be Gary Herbert, Utah State Lieutenant Governor and Drew Sitterud, county commissioner. Tickets can be purchased from local precinct leaders or at the door. Museum Hours


New hours for the Pioneer Museum are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and Saturday noon-4 p.m. Share your pioneer heritage with family and friends.

DUP District Conference


Emery/Carbon County Companies of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will hold their Annual District Convention on March 12 at the Museum of the San Rafael, Castle Dale. Book Sales begin at 8 a.m.; officers meeting at 9 a.m.; and general meeting at 10:15 a.m. Luncheon (cost $5.50) will be served. Guest Speakers will be Lou Jean Wiggins and Carol Buchmiller of DUP International. Emery County Company will host the event. Scouting Expo


A new name for the Scout-A-Rama is Scouting Expo. All scouts and cub scouts are welcome to participate. It’s not too late to sign up for a booth, contact Laren Huntsman at 381-5445. Castle Dale Book Fair


Castle Dale Elementary book fair will be held Feb. 23-25. The open house will be on Feb. 23 from 6:30-8 p.m. The fair will be during school hours Feb. 23-25.

Huntington Elem. Kindergarten Registration


Kindergarten registration for Huntington Elementary School will be held Feb. 28 from 8 a.m.-noon. Those with last names beginning with A-I come from 9-10 a.m., names beginning with J-R come from 10-11 a.m., and names beginning with S-Z come from 11 a.m.-noon.

Cleveland/Elmo Youth


We are looking for any youth (ninth grade to seniors) interested in being active in the Cleveland/Elmo youth town councils. The DAV will meet March 12 at 3 p.m. at the Price Senior Citizens Center. There will be a pot luck meal.

Emery County Youth Leadership Councils


Emery County Youth Leadership councils are sponsoring a food drive and humanitarian drive to help the Utah Food Bank fill the shelves back up and help those victims of disasters with clothes. This is where we need you. Bring your food items to your city hall or to your elementary school and there you will find a box to drop off your items. This is a service project for our youth leadership conference to be held April 16. We are trying to see which city can collect the most of these items so ready…set…bring on the drive. Help your YCC be the best. This drive will run from Feb. 1-April 16. We are hoping to have so much food that the Utah Food Bank has to bring down big trucks to take it back and also that the news stations will have to come to Emery County for our great deed. Give a little…help a little…we need you.

Raffle to Benefit Wild Turkeys


Browning Arms has manufactured a specially engraved, one-of-a-kind Citori 12-gauge shotgun for National Wild Turkey Federation’s Utah’s statewide raffle. Cleveland Rabies Clinic


Cleveland Town will sponsor a rabies clinic on Feb. 26 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Cemetery storage building, 200 North 600 East. Dr. Griggs will be the vet this year. All dogs are required to have a current rabies shot before they can be licensed for the new year. All dogs must be licensed by Feb. 28.

Huntington Dog Licenses


The Huntington City 2005 dog licenses are now due. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be presented before license can be issued Deadline for dog licenses is March 1. Dog licenses may be purchased at the Huntington City Hall or at the rabies clinic which will be held at the Huntington City Fire Station on Feb. 26 with Dr. Brent Griggs. Clinic will be from 9 a.m.-noon.

New Archives Hours


Emery County Archives now has new hours. The new hours are noon-5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Archives is now under the supervision of the Emery County Recorder and a message may be left at that office at 381-2414.

CASA Volunteers Needed


Each year hundreds of children in Emery and Carbon counties become wards of the juvenile court system due to child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The child welfare system can only devote so much time and attention to each individual case and, consequently, to each individual child. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are ordinary men and women who find it in their hearts and their schedules to help these abused and neglected children. Eyeglasses for Lions Club
