Youth Council service project

Alyssa Cox speaks with the Emery County Commissioners about financial help for the leadership conference.

The Emery County Youth councils are planning a leadership conference on April 16 at the Ferron Stake Center. In conjunction with this conference which will feature breakout workshop sessions and speaker, John Bytheway, the group T Minus 5 will perform. As part of the conference the youth are involved in a service project which includes a food and clothing drive. A computer will also be given away in a drawing.
Boxes are set out around the towns to collect articles of clothing and food for the drive. The youth councils are also getting the younger children involved by placing boxes at the elementary schools. The youth council hopes to gather more food and clothing by turning it into a competition between the towns involved.
