Venice Jensen
Venice Elaine Burr Jensen, a lifetime resident of Emery will be honored on her 90th birthday at a family dinner and open house, April 16 from 1-4 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center in Emery.
Venice was born in Emery on April 19, 1915. She married Dermus B. Jensen on Sept. 26, 1933, later solemnized in the Manti Temple on April 18, 1935, They were married for 70 years. Dermus died on Dec. 23, 2003. Her children and their spouses are: LaWayne and Jens Jensen, Brent and Karen Jensen, Russell and Betty Jensen, and Kenna and LaVar Park. She has 13 grandchildren (one deceased) and 27 great-grandchildren.
Her hobbies have been gardening and quilting. She still looks forward to tending a small garden each summer and throughout her life has made many beautiful quilts for her family. As the wife of a farmer and cattleman, Venice was truly an equal partner, whenever necessary she could do any of the hard work required in the business. She is a loving mother and grandmother. We wish her the best.
