Teenager dies in motorcycle accident

By By

On April 28 at approximately 7:05 p.m. on the Lawrence/Tan Seeps Road, just off of I-70 at milepost 131, a 16 year old male, Travis Robbins of Brighton, Colo., died from injuries incurred when the Honda 250cc motorcycle he was riding collided with a horse trailer.
The youth apparently was on the wrong side of the road, while going around a sharp curve and laid the bike on its side ending up in the path of an oncoming truck pulling a horse trailer. The driver of the truck moved over as far as possible to avoid the collision, but the young rider ended up under the horse trailer.
Friends of the boy came upon the accident and one of them was an EMT who administered CPR, but the youth died at the scene.
The accident is under investigation by the Emery County Sheriff’s Office. Trooper Ed Bentley and Sgt. Darrell Mecham from the Utah Highway Patrol and Sgt. Gayle Jensen from the Emery County Sheriff’s office were the responding officers to the scene. Sgt. Norman Vuksinick will complete the medical examination report for the accident.
