Carol Elene McBride Jewkes
Carol Elene McBride Jewkes, 53, passed away Oct. 13, 2005 at her home in Orangeville. She was born Sept. 15, 1952 in Driggs, Idaho to Walter and Lula Mecham McBride. She married Brian Jewkes on Sept. 13, 1974 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Carol was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a fabulous gardener who could make anything grow. She loved sewing and spending time in the mountains, but most of all, she found joy in her family.
She is survived by her husband, Brian; children, Kamey (Fletcher) Hope and Kalley (Nathan) Hardman both of West Jordan, Lance
(Stacy) Jewkes of Tooele, and Kurt Jewkes and Michael Jewkes, both of Orangeville; and four grandchildren. Also survived by her mother, Lula McBride of Victor, Idaho; sisters, Moana (Eldon) Mikesell of Rawlins, Wyo., and Margaret (Ole) Widerburg of Rigby, Idaho; and brother Richard (Virginia) McBride of Victor, Idaho. Preceded in death by her father, Walter James McBride, and brothers, Robert Lynn McBride and Walter James “Jim” McBride.
Services were held on Mon., Oct. 17 in the Orangeville Second Ward LDS chapel at 1 p.m. Friends called Sunday evening at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale from 6-8 p.m. and at the chapel, one hour prior to services. Interment in the Orangeville cemetery.
Donald Erickson Fletcher
Donald Erickson Fletcher, 68, passed away Oct. 13, 2005 in Provo due to complications post surgery. He was born Dec. 23, 1936 in Spring Canyon to Emmet Leonard and Iola Erickson Fletcher and raised by his foster parents, Dell and May Hiatt. In 1954 he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. He married Elaine C. Anctil on June 14, 1958 in Nashua, N.H., later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on June 14, 2001.
Donald was an outdoorsman and was happy when he was in the woods, whether he was hunting, fishing or 4-wheeling. He had a talent for working with his hands, woodworking and painting. His greatest joy was in spending time with his wife and family, and his little buddy “Duke.”
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; children, Donald Fletcher of Boise, Idaho, Scott (Lydia) Fletcher of Price, Randy (Patty) Fletcher of Glendora, Calif., and Sherrie (Chuck) Davis of Price; grandchildren, Joshua, Joni, Julie, Jacob, Jordan, Lexi, Davey, Sarah, Farrah, Brandon, Brad, Bryon, Maria, Sky, Jack, Andrea, Harrison, Joe, Heather and Zoe; and one great grandchild. Also survived by his sister, Kathryn (Jim) Ward of Cleveland and brothers, George (Phyllis) Fletcher of Walla Walla, Wash., Dan (Dorothy) Black of Huntington, and Micki Fletcher of Sicklerville, N.J. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leonard Fletcher and sister Deanne Jensen.
Services were held Mon.. Oct 17 at the Cleveland Second Ward LDS chapel. Interment was in the Cleveland cemetery. Services were under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
John Marsing
PRICE/SALT LAKE CITY – Our loving son, brother, nephew and dear friend, John Orson Marsing, age 52, passed away Oct. 4, 2005 from heart failure in Provo.
He was born Dec. 31, 1952 in Price to Jack (John) and Phyllis Daskalos Marsing. John was born into this world with many challenges.
He was a graduate of Granite High School in 1972 and a member of the LDS Church.
He loved music, movies, science, geography and math. John had a brilliant mind and a dry sense of humor. He was pure of heart and will be dearly missed by his family.
Survived by mother, Phyllis Marsing; sister, Lois Marsing; brother, Troy (Leslie) Marsing; three nieces, Chelsey, Mykela, Madyson; nephew, Martin; and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by father, Jack Marsing; grandparents, Orson and Maude Marsing; and John and Mary Daskalos.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to entire staff at Trinity Mission Health and Rehabilitation for 26 years of loving care they provided to John.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice.
Mary Falsone
PRICE – Loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and dear friend, Mary Bertolini Falsone, age 84, passed away Oct. 16, 2005 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
She was born Oct. 9, 1921 in Storrs to John and Rosa Salvaterra Bertolini. Married Joe Falsone on Feb. 14, 1940 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price; he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1984.
She was an active member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Notre Dame Alter Society and the Moose Lodge. Mary worked as a maid at the Mission Motel and for the Carbon County Nursing Home prior to her retirement. She also helped with the Carbon County Senior Citizen Group. Mary was a hard worker who devoted her life to her family.
Survived by four children, Mary Ann Milano, Spring Glen; Charles J. Falsone, Carolyn (John) Kantor, Catherine (Sheridan) Judd, all of Price; sister, Edith Dearing, Sandy; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband; parents; stepfather, Joe Andrezzi; sister; seven brothers; and son-in-law, Dwane Milano.

Richard Smith
HELPER – Richard Arlen (Kinky) Smith, age 62, passed away Oct. 12, 2005 at Castleview Hospital while surrounded by family and friends.
He was born July 7, 1943 in Price to James and Stella Yelesnianski Smith. Married Frances Elizabeth Ori Aug. 25, 1967 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper.
Member St. Anthony Catholic Church and SNPJ Lodge 689. Kinky worked at Spring Canyon Coal Company and with Utah Forest Service. Member of the Utah National Guard.
Kinky enjoyed horseshoes, playing cards, fishing, music, basketball, baseball and swimming. Kinky loved socializing with family and friends, teasing people and giving them nicknames.
Survived by wife, Frannie Smith, Helper; two brothers and four sisters, Jim Smith, Bastrop, Texas; Joyce Smith-Call, Pahrump, Nev.; Jeanne Day, Janis Aberle, Nancy Wiggains, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; John O’Green, Groveport, Ohio; and many loving nieces, nephews, godchildren and a community of friends. Preceded in death by father; mother and stepfather, Stella and Ernie O’Green; and brother, Bobby Smith.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Vigil service Tuesday evening, 7 p.m. at the church in Helper. Family will be at St. Anthony’s Tuesday and Wednesday one hour prior to service.
Don C. Jensen
Don C. Jensen Born March 7, 1919 to Calvin C. and Edith Osborn Jensen in Clawson. He retired from the U.S. Airforce after 30 years of service. He married Lisa Fischer but later divorced. He moved home to Clawson to spend his retirement years ranching and farming. He raised sheep and cattle and took over the family bee and honey business. He also loved his race horses.
He is survived by sisters, LaVer (Ivan) Nielson of Midway, Kenna Prestwich of Salt Lake City and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Max and Coy.
He passed from this life on Oct. 13, 2005 in Clawson.
There will be a graveside service on Sat. Oct. 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Ferron City Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Ferron Ward Building following the service.
