My name is Pat Behling and I am the owner of Pat’s Sew N’ Stuff in Ferron. I loved to sew and hated it when I ran out of supplies in the middle of a project. That was 17 years ago in the spring of 1988. I wasn’t able to buy a spool of thread or anything else in Ferron, in the way of sewing supplies. That is when the idea to open a fabric shop started to form in my mind.
I opened Pat’s Sew N’ Stuff on July 1 that year. I started out very small and have put everything back into the business since that time. I have truly enjoyed learning how to run a business, but the thing I have loved the most is meeting all of the wonderful people who have supported me during these years. I truly enjoy meeting new people and I love trying to help everyone with their projects.
I appreciate the many people who have helped who have helped me through the years. The venders I have worked with have been a tremendous help to me. My employees have also been a great help to me, especially Nellie Smith. She has been there to help me out when I haven’t been able to work because of illness or family emergencies. My husband has been especially supportive of me; and since he has retired he accompanies me to market to buy for the store. We have had a lot of good times on these trips.
I enjoy bringing a needed service to Ferron and Emery County. I hope that the business will be able to continue to serve the communities as I get ready to retire in the near future.
