Nellie Darlene Clark
PRICE-Nellie Darlene Clark, 88, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Dec. 26, 2005 in Price, to be reunited with her beloved husband, Tain. She was born March 30, 1917 in Hayden, to Hyrum Lyionel and Princess Eugeni (Gardner) Spencer. She married Tain Theron Clark on Nov. 23, 1936 in Vernal, which was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
An active member of the LDS church, she and her husband were temple workers at the Manti Temple for many years. Darlene was many things in her life, including a florist, a waitress, a cook and a homemaker. She was a verifiable “Domestic Engineer.” She loved to have company over and could whip up a meal for a crowd in no time. Missed will be the amazing apple pies, the bread, the chicken and noodles, all lovingly made from scratch.
Tain and her family were her life.
Darlene is survived by her children, Betti (Earl) Curtis of Salt Lake City, Alva “Smokey” Clark, Theron “Chub” (Vera) Clark, and Jerry “Muggs” (Valynda) Clark, all of Wellington, Connie (Kent) Norton of Price, and Shirlee (Larry) Lopan of Boulder City, Nev. Also survived by 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her sweetheart, Tain; a daughter, Barbara Henderson; her parents; and her brothers and sisters, including her twin.
Funeral services were held Fri. Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. in the Wellington LDS Stake Center. Friends called Thursday evening and one hour prior to services. Interment in the Price City Cemetery.
Deanna Jeys
PRICE-Deanna Abbott Jeys, age 44, passed away peacefully Dec. 27, 2005 in Price after a long illness. She was born March, 16, 1961 in Salt Lake City to Robert and Helena Mitchell Abbott. Married Dan Jeys Aug. 7, 1998 in Price.
Deanna enjoyed cross stitching and needle work. She liked to fish, camp and enjoy the beauty of the high mountains. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Survived by her husband, Dan Jeys; son, Steven Jeys; daughter, Michele Jeys; father, Bob Abbott, all of Price; brothers and sisters, William F. (Paula) Abbott, Tooele; Judy (Don) Lavcirica, Colorado Springs, Colo.; John (Heather) Abbott; Sherrie (Rodney) Delaney, Grantsville. Preceded in death by her mother, Helena Waters.
Graveside services were held Sat. Dec. 31, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
Sherrie Gianette
Sherrie Annette Reva Gianette, age 61, died Dec. 24, 2005 after a long illness. She was born June 24, 1944 in Price to Anthony “Tony” and Jennie Reva and raised in Hiawatha. She married Ralph Gianette in 1964.
Preceded in death by her parents. Survived by her husband and three children, Anthony, Matthew and Gina; grandchildren, one sister, two brothers, Arlene (Norm) Vuksinick, John (Marilyn) Reva; and Peter R. Reva; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Jan. 6, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Henry Oneida
Henry Michael Oneida, age 49 passed away Dec. 26, 2005. He was born May 4, 1956 to Henry Oneida Sr. and Marion Lukich Guerra. Married Bertha Mae Smith March 25, 1975, later divorced. Three surviving children by this union, Country (Dan) Bray, Michael, and Trisha Oneida. Two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ashlyn. Also survived by Jeff Oneida, Kurtis and Vicki Oneida, Marion and Cindy Oneida, stepfather, Eleuterio Guerra, sister, Alicia Guerra, a loving companion Jaylene Hunsaker, grandma Sophie Lukich and uncle Michael Lukich, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Oneida Sr., beloved brother Owen Todd Oneida, and sister Sophie Denise Oneida Pierce.
Henry’s interests were fishing, hunting, and being outdoors with family and friends. He was a natural born leader, the steady rock of our family. He will be missed dearly by all who know him.
Funeral services were held Sat. Dec. 31, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray.
Ruth Pyper
FERRON-Ruth North Pyper died peacefully Dec. 29, 2005 in Ferron at the age of 97 from complications of pneumonia. She was born March 21, 1908 in Charleston, Utah to Albert Ashael and Mary Steadman North. She was the second of five children.
Ruth married Ray Van Pyper on Sept. 26, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with seven children. Together they ran the family farm in Midway., After Ray’s death in 1963, Ruth and her children moved to Salt Lake City where she lived for 20 years. In 1983 Ruth moved to Ferron where she currently resided.
Ruth was a woman of service. She served valiantly in various positions in the LDS church including many years in the relief society and as a ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. Ruth also provided much service to her family, children, and grandchildren. Her family was the light of her life. She loved each one and could never say enough good about every one of them.
Ruth was a hard worker, a good cook and an avid reader. She always kept her hands and mind busy. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery work. She also enjoyed canning homegrown fruits and vegetables.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ray Van Pyper on Dec. 1, 1963; daughter Mary Lou Harvey; son-in-law Gale Dugmore; brothers Jessie and Leslie North; sister Ferl Julander; and three grandchildren. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Delwin and Diane Pyper of Panama City, Fla., Idonna Dugmore of Ferron, Alda and Elroy Stucki of Beaver, Ruth Joyce and Joseph McGee of Antioch, Tenn., Ken and Sue Pyper of Miller Creek, Mel and Starla Pyper of Wellington; and sister LaVern Evans of Heber; 40 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tues. Jan. 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Millsite Ward LDS chapel, 35 West 200 North, Ferron, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Midway City Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Merril Young
WELLINGTON-Merril Lamont Young Jr., 70, passed away at his home in Wellington on Dec. 30, 2005. He was born May 11, 1935, in Mohrland, the son of Merril Lamont and Sybil (Seeley) Young. He married Marilyn Olsen on June 29, 1954 in Ferron and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Merril loved the outdoors and was at his happiest whether fishing, hunting or camping.
Merril is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his children, Loralie (Randy) Thayn of Wellington, Colleen (Larry) Swasey of Price, Jeffrey (Terri) Young of Helper, Ranae Young of Salt Lake City, and Sandra (Tom) Hoopes of Sandy; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a sister, Reva Mae Dorrell of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Farnum and Jerry.
Services will be held Wed. Jan. 4, 2006 in the Wellington First Ward LDS chapel at 11 a.m. Friends are invited to call on Tue. Jan. 3 at Fausett Mortuary, 680 East 100 South, Price from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment in the Wellington Cemetery.
Marian Allen
GREEN RIVER-Marian V. Worthen Allen, 72, passed away Dec. 26, 2005 in Riverside, Calif. She was born May 10, 1933 in Rochester, (Moore), Utah, to Peter Clayton and Vernell Seely Worthen. She married Lewis David Allen June 1, 1956, in the Manti LDS Temple.
Marian enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening and reading. She was a member of the LDS church where she held many callings. She graduated from Carbon High School, College of Eastern Utah and Brigham Young University, and earned a masters degree from Phoenix University.
Survived by her husband Lewis of Perris, Calif.; sons, Ted of Moreno, Calif., Levi (Kelly) of West Valley City, Blaine of Green River; daughters Deborah (Jose) Rojas of Green River, and Doreen of Perris, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Ellis (Olga) Worthen of Salt Lake City and a sister Connie (Garth) Noyes of Escalante. Preceded in death by her parents and a son Ken Daniel Allen,
Funeral services will be held Tues. Jan. 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Green River LDS chapel in Green River, where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service for a viewing. Burial in the Elgin Cemetery in Green River under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Earl Wilson
PRICE – Earl Lewis Wilson, age 79, passed away at his home on Dec. 27, 2005.
He was born April 8, 1926 in Wagoner, Okla., to Curtis E. Wilson and Norma P. Thorton Wilson. He married Bonnie Faye Cunningham in 1943, later divorced. Married Nancy Lea Butts Jan. 8, 1962 in Carson City, Nev.
He owned and operated night clubs in California for many years before moving to Utah in 1977 to open a restaurant in Orem. He moved to Price in 1979, where he worked for Metro Oil Co. managing the East Price Metro store until his retirement in 1988, where everyone would stop in just for the friendly conversation. He was always one to help people who were down on their luck or needed a tank of gas between paydays. He never turned away anyone in need.
Through his retirement years, he took great pride in spending time with his grandkids, never missing a birthday or holiday event with them, spoiling them as grandparents do and often pulling out his harmonica to play them a happy tune from his youth.
Our dad, granddad and Grandpa Earl was a very loving and giving person who touched the hearts of everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survived by four sons, Benny E. Wilson, Curtis L. Wilson, Fresno, Calif.; Harry (Carrie) Wilson and Charley (Kris) Wilson; five grandchildren, Colt, Preston, Alexus, Zachory and Wyatt; one sister, Ethel Embry, Texas; two brothers, Bobby Wilson, Texas; J.D. Wilson, California; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Preceded in death by wife, Nancy; parents; one sister and infant brother.
Memorial graveside service will be Wed., Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. in the Wellington City Cemetery.
