At 11:47 p.m. on Jan. 26, an earthquake was recorded eight miles east of Castle Dale. The tremor measured 3.6 in magnitude.
Relu Burlacu, of the University of Utah Seismograph Station, stated that reports are coming into the station’s website, and those who felt the quake can register their comments under the “Did you feel It?” icon. The web address is www.seis.utah.edu.
Most of the reports have come from Ferron and Huntington, with no injuries or damage reported. Of the nine recorded earthquakes felt in this area over the past week, the one felt on Thursday night was the strongest.
In addition to reports from Ferron and Huntington, reports have been registered on the website from Thompson, Park City, Grand Junction, Colo., Golden, Colo., and Yuma, Ariz.
