Funk retains legal counsel

By PATSY STODDARD Editor

Former Emery County Clerk Bruce Funk has retained legal counsel. Funk attended the regular commission meeting on April 18. In speaking with Funk after the commission meeting went into executive session he said the thing that bothers him is that several times through the various commission meetings and special commission meetings is that he repeatedly requested legal counsel. He also asked who should be his legal counsel. The county attorney had a conflict of interest and would not be proper counsel for Funk. Funk said his lawyer has now been in contact with the commission but he was not at liberty to say what his expectations and requests of the commission include.
Funk said he approached a lawyer out of Salt Lake, the law office of Phillip W. Dyer and retained him as his counsel. Funk said, There is a personal side of the story that needs to come out. Funk said when he is ready to tell that story and the time is right hell speak out.
