Wayman sentenced in murder case

Judge George M. Harmond conducted the sentencing of Lanny Hubert Wayman on June 21. Wayman pled guilty to the crime of manslaughter at a June 8 court appearance. On June 21, the court heard statements from the victim’s sister, Marsha Corum. The court heard statements from Wayman and also the defendant’s attorney David Allred. Brent Langston, deputy county attorney, also made remarks at the sentencing. Judge Harmond determined that based on the defendant’s conviction of manslaughter, a second degree felony, the defendant was sentenced to 1-15 years in the Utah State Prison. Based on the degendant’s conviction of purchase/possession of a dangerous weapon he was sentenced to an indeterminate term not to exceed five years. In the abuse and desecration of a human body the defendant was sentenced to an indeterminate term not to exceed five years in the Utah State Prison. Commitment is to begin immediately. Court orders that counts two and three are to run concurrent. Counts two and three are to run consecutive with count one.
