Emery County All-Stars take third

The Cal Ripkin All-Star tournament kicked off the week of July 10 at the Orangeville City Park. Baseball kids from all over Emery County were chosen to make the all-star team coached by Mark Tanner, Shaun Jeffs and Jason Childs. The team started the tournament with a win over Wayne County 14-4. The next game was played against Juab, where Emery took the win 14-9. Emery then played Panquitch with an intense game. The scores stayed close until the end where Emery took a three up, three down inning and came back to bat with some great hits leaving the score 14-11. East Millard was the next team to play with a loss 6-15. Emery played Beaver next with a close game but taking the loss 10-11. The Emery County team finished in third place for the tournament. Members of the team were; Slayde Childs, Davis Thompson, Drexler Tanner, Brett Sorensen, Carson Healy, Wyatt Payne, Haylee Beckstead, Austin Jeffs and Austin Boren.
