Are you ready for some rodeo action?

The Desertview Pro Rodeo is slated to come to town on July 27, 28 and 29 at the rodeo arena in Castle Dale. The three day event will be jam packed with cowboys and cowgirls from all over the country competing for big money purses.
During the rodeo on Thursday the Castle Valley Ranch colt giveaway will make a proud horse owner of the lucky ticket holder. A winner will be drawn from all of the rodeo ticket stubs to the Thursday night event.
Each night of the rodeo will feature the wild cow milking event. Local cowboys compete for prize money and all around belt buckles for the overall champions. This is Emery County’s truly extreme, unique event. Don’t miss this event because you will be entertained to the max with this wild action.
Our corporate partner Magnuson Lumber proudly presents Keith Isley. Each night Isley will be in the arena as a first class, awesome bull fighter and clown act. Isley has been named the PRCA rodeo speciality act of the year many times. He is the ultimate rodeo clown and you won’t want to miss this entertaining act.
The Desertview Pro Rodeo has attracted some local cowboys, Justin Carter, calf roper from Huntington. Brock and Justin Truman, calf ropers from Huntington, Carl Sherman, bull rider from Huntington and Monte Jensen, calf roper from Price. Top cowboys from around the region participating will be Kyle Bowers, ranked 12th in the world. Bowers is a bareback rider from Alberta, Canada. Rusty Allen, Lehi, is ranked fourth in the world in saddle bronc. Jess Davis, Payson, is ranked eighth in bareback in the world and will try his luck in Castle Dale. Wesley Silcox, Payson, is ranked second in the world in bullriding. Matt Shiozawa from Chubbock, Idaho is ranked 13th in the world in calf roping. Steve Woolsey, is ranked 16th in bull riding.
The rodeo begins at 7:30 p.m. each evening under the Emery County blue skies. An added bonus is the portable bleachers which will add 500 seats to the seating capacity of the rodeo. This added seating will make the standing room only event more friendly to rodeo goers.
Ike Sankey will provide the rodeo stock for the event. Sankey is known far and wide for his rodeo animals who know their job and perform it well. His stock is used every year at the National Rodeo Finals held each year in Las Vegas.
Come and spend a night watching the best rodeo action around. This rodeo has something for everyone and even if you don’t think you’re a rodeo fan, you will be after a night spent at the Desertview Pro Rodeo. New this year is a combo ticket special, good for all three nights of rodeo action at a reduced price. This special ticket deal is only available at Desertview Federal Credit Union branches in Huntington and Ferron.
Jasha Hinkins will perform the National Anthem on Thursday and Saturday and Tawny Conder will perform on Friday night. Rodeo concessions will be offered each night for the hungry cowboy and cowgirl.
There is a huge surprise event to take place at the Little Texas concert this year on Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. and you’ll have to show up to find out the secret at the Saturday concert.
The Desertview Pro Rodeo kicks off two weeks of fun and the Emery County Fair begins Aug. 2 with a free pig dinner. Events continue Aug. 3-5, culminating with the huge, free Little Texas concert on Aug. 5.
