Letter to the Editor: Utah’s Godless determination

By WILLIAM SHARP Castle Dale

Editor,
President Bush, the leaders of a billion plus Catholics, a host of evangelical leaders, and numerous senators and representatives are calling experimentation that kills living human embryos, murder and the same as abortion. However, Utah’s senators Orrin Hatch and Bob Bennett, with the overwhelming support of Utahns, vow to continue to lead the fight to dissect living embryos, take their parts and do it with our tax dollars attempting to make us all accomplices in their little shop of horrors.
Like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc. they tempt us promising that killing these innocents is for the good of society. However, embryonic stem cell research has been carried out for several years now and not even one cure has been discovered while during the same time harmless research using adult stem cells and stem cells derived from umbilical cord blood have provided numerous cures and the likely promise of more advanced cures than killing living embryos does.
So why Utah’s Godless determination to press forward with the shedding of innocent human blood? Could it be that Utah’s leaders have seen through the obvious fraud of Joseph Smith, given up on religion and the hope of eternal life (except for the outward appearance), and are determined to seek longer life elsewhere? This would answer a lot of questions about the LDS church now allowing abortions saying they are not murder and taking a “proceed carefully” approach to the killing of embryos.
The Book of Revelation in the Bible sums up the reasons why God destroys large numbers of the wicked in the last days saying; “and neither repented they of their murders”. One might wonder how so many could get conned into subtly accepting murder and refusing to repent. The selfishness, pride and power that have blinded Orrin and his followers proves it can be done. Many of the rest of us still see the value of each human life and know God hears their cries.
