On, Aug. 19, the family of Beth Lemon Stephenson Jensen and the late Bruce Jensen, celebrated her 80th birthday in Castle Dale. Nearly 80 extended family members attended coming from Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho and Utah. The festivities included games for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a special historical slide show, a talent show and lunch.
Beth was born Jan. 7, 1926 to Arthur and Irene Lemon of Ferron.
After graduation from Emery High School she attended Utah State University on a Home Economics Scholarship studying to become a teacher. Her first teaching position was teaching third and fourth graders in Holden. While there, she married Lynn Stephenson and they had five children.
She continued her teaching career teaching four years in Vernal and later moved to Fredonia Ariz., where she taught 21 years.
In 1985 she married Bruce Jensen and moved to Castle Dale. They have 39 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren.
