The Emery High School golf team and Millsite Golf Course hosted the five Region 8 golf teams in the second region meet of the year last Thursday.
The Emery team finished with a team score of 375, which put them in fourth place for the day. The North Sanpete Hawks were 13 strokes behind the Spartans. Juan Diego finished the day with the top score followed by Delta and Carbon.
Kyler Edgehouse led the Spartans with an 84. Matt Sjogren was second with a 94 followed by Jason Giles with a 96. Mark Guymon and Leo Sarber tied for the last scoring spot with a 101.
In high school golf, six golfers tee off for the meet with the top four scores being recorded.
The year started a week ago with a tournament in Logan at the site of the State tournament. The region results were basically the same. This is Millsite’s only hosting for this season.
This week the team is at South Mountain in Draper, the home course of Juan Diego.
