Alma Lowe Willson
FERRON-Our loving mother and grandmother, Alma Lowe Willson passed away Oct. 24, 2006 at Utah Valley Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born June 15, 1923 in Springville, Utah to William Elden and Sarah Spafford Lowe. She married her life long fishing partner Lloyd Willson March 7, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nev., he died July 27, 1999 in Ferron, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on Sept. 9, 2000.
Alma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She went to school in Springville. Her mother passed away while Alma was just a girl. She was left to help raise her younger sister and brother. Alma was a very hard worker and took pride in her family and home. Her favorite times were those that were spent with her children and grandchildren.
Alma loved to fish and camp and enjoyed the great outdoors. When she wasn’t spending time with her children or grandchildren, she was figuring out crossword puzzles and watching her hummingbirds. She loved living and time spent with her close friends “The Wild Bunch.”
Alma was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters Patsy (Ed) Christie, Orangeville, Betty (Tony) Riffle, Sunnyside, Billie (Derek) Morgan, St. Louis, Mo., one son Michael (Patricia) Willson, Ferron; 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by one sister Louise (Bill) Hales, Tooele, one brother Ray (Jerrie) Lowe, Springville, three nieces, two nephews, and many cousins. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Barbara Dawn, son-in-law Dennis, grandson Darrin, and nephew Richard.
Private services for family and friends was held Sat. Oct. 28, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Ferron Stake Center under the direction of Fausett Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
Ruth Reid Stephens Rands

Ruth Reid Stephens (Rands) died Oct. 27, 2006 at Care Source Center in Salt Lake City. She was born Nov. 8, 1918 to Fredrick Walter and Maggie Mae Reid in Orangeville, Utah. She married the great love of her life, George B. Stephens on June 18, 1950. He passed away on August 6, 1974. They were married for 34 years. She later married Art Rands.
Ruth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in her many callings. She served a full time mission in California and at the age of 70 served as a Relief Society President. She worked 20 years for the Utah Industries for the Blind. She loved to quilt, crochet and knit, making many beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren and all her great-grandchildren. She loved to read and write poetry and had a passion for serving friends and strangers who were in need. Mother had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to laugh and spend time with family playing dominos and other games. The family will always cherish the memories of spending time with mother at the cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
She was preceded in death by George and Art, two sisters, two brothers, a daughter, granddaughter, two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
She is survived by her children Geraldine Brown of Salt Lake, Dorothy Wright (Ray) of Ogden, Nadiene Hewerdine (Leon) of Middle-town Md., Sharon Bona (Ardene) of Salt Lake, Harold Stephens (Jo) of Salt Lake, Patricia Case (Mike) of Salt Lake, Grace Greener (Dee) of Silver City, Nev.; one sister-in-law, Pearl Rands. She had 34 grandchildren, 41 great- grandchildren, 37 great-great- grandchildren.
The family would like to express appreciation to Care Source. They truly are angels and were so very kind and considerate each and every day that they came to visit and watch over mother during the last six months.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 at the Taylorsgrove ward at 4800 South 1300 West. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Redwood Mortuary 6500 South Redwood Road, and one hour prior to services on Friday.
Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to Care Source Hospice Center at 1624 East 4500 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117.
Ronald Dean Hansen
Ronald Dean Hansen, 71, passed away on Oct. 25, 2006 after a short illness, surrounded by his family. He was born in Provo, Utah, Feb. 17, 1935 to Dean W. and Zona B. Johnson Hansen. The majority of his life he lived in Utah County. He was married to Jean D. Hansen for 25 years. Ron was a member of the Local #77 Painters Union for over 30 years, which took him through all 50 states. After retirement he moved to Lawrence, Utah to play with his horses and dogs.
Ron served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict as a tank commander. He had a passion for old cars, animals, camping and loving his family.
Ron is survived by his six children, Debra S. (JR) Bittle, Memphis, Tenn.; David L. (Edna) Sorrells, Cleveland, Utah; Robert G. Sorrells, Provo, Utah; James D. (Lisa) Sorrells, Orem, Utah; Sandra D. (Elvin) Harward, Orem, Utah; Cheryl Ellison, Lawrence, Utah; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with two more on the way; three sisters, Julia Kirkwood, Hemmet, Calif.; Sheila Kirkwood, Orem, Utah; Bernice Perkins, Los Angeles, Calif.; three cousins that were like brothers to Ron, Dallas Hansen, Calman Hansen and Mark Hansen; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends are too many to count. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Ronald Dean Hansen and Donald Bret (Michelle) Hansen, and one grandson, Dustin Bret Hansen.

Blair Leon Erickson
HUNTINGTON- Blair Leon Erickson, age 70, passed away Oct. 27, 2006 in Huntington surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 12, 1936 in Elmo, Utah, to Einar and Ina Shaw Erickson. Married Connie Rae Thayn, June 8, 1955 in Wellington, Utah.
Blair loved to hunt and fish. He collected rocks and arrowheads any chance he was able to. But Blair’s real passion was for the great outdoors, and for his vegetable gardening. He loved to celebrate life, and he loved his family very much and their love for him was equally as strong, he will be missed very much.
Blair is survived by his wife Connie of Huntington, children; Jodi (Gary) Norton of Wellington; Christine (Joe) Anselmo of Elmo; Raylene (David) Avery of Huntington; Terry Erickson of Elmo; Sharon (Kris) Oveson of Castle Dale; and LeAnne (Scott) Eden of Orangeville; sisters, LaRue Lofley of Elmo, Janet Mortensen of Elmo, Deloras Wingfield of Missouri. 34 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents.
Funeral services will be held on Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Huntington LDS Fourth Ward Chapel. A viewing will take place Nov. 1, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and also one hour prior to service. Burial will take place at the Huntington City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary. The family would like to send a special thank you to David Avery for always being there for Blair and the family.
