Chris Appleby
MOAB – Our loving son, brother, grandson and beloved nephew, Christopher William Appleby, age 21, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 29, 2006.
He was born July 16, 1985 in Price to Robert (Bobby) William Appleby and Gaylene Haycock.
Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and horseback riding.
He loved spending time with his family and friends in the outdoors and he passed away while doing what he enjoyed.
Chris will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and especially his aunt, Georgia, whom he lived with in Moab.
Survived by his parents, Bobby and Gaylene Appleby, Price; brother, Bobby Appleby Jr., and his wife, Autumn; niece, Hannah Marie, all of Wyoming; sister, Robin Appleby, Price; grandparents, John and Louise Kneib, Palm Springs, Calif.; Ron and Dian Jewkes, Helper; Tom Haycock, Kenilworth; special aunt, Georgia Huckins, Moab; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Funeral service was Monday, Dec. 4, at Mitchell Funeral Home. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
Azelia Atwood
ELMO/HUNTINGTON – Mary Azelia Harper Atwood, 92 of Huntington and formerly of Elmo, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Nov. 30, 2006 at Emery County Care Center.
She was born June 26, 1914 in Cleveland to Samuel and Maude Oviatt Harper. Married William Dean Atwood Jan. 18, 1933 in Elmo. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1978. They raised four special children, sons, Ferrel, Delroy, Ronald (deceased), and one wonderful daughter, Dorene.
Azelia enjoyed her lifetime activities of the RSVP volunteer organization, Good Sam’s Club, the senior center dances, Bonco, the senior band, and her many special friends and abundant family members.
She loved to crochet, quilt, family get togethers and teaching all the family to do what she loved.
She is survived by her children, Ferrel (Sally) Atwood, Delroy (Linda) Atwood, Dorene (Garold) Horrocks; daughter-in-law, Nancy Atwood; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; sister-in-law, Hope Harper, Riverton; many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronald; daughter-in-law, Tina Atwood; stepfather, William F. Franklin; and brother, Dwain Harper.
Funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 5, noon, Huntington LDS Stake Center. Family will be at the church Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cleveland City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Emery County Care Center. The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice, Emery County Care Center, Dr. Nichols, Sara Lee, and a special thanks to all her very special friends.
Judith Ware Seay
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. – Judith ‘Judi’ Dee Ware Seay died Nov. 11, 2006 in the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital near her home in Garden Grove, Calif. She was 60 years old.
She had been disabled for several years, suffering from lupus and, more recently, from cancer.
While in the hospital, the years-long stress on her body took its toll and she succumbed to heart failure.
She was born May 11, 1946 to Gilbert and Helen Ware. Judi spent her adolescent and teen years in Orangeville and graduated from South Emery High School. She attended Utah State University, where she met and married Tom Cruickshank.
The pair traveled to Chicago, Ill., where Tom played football for the Chicago Bulls, and later to Las Vegas, Nev., where he was assistant football coach at the UNLV. They later divorced.
Judi moved to California in 1986 and had a successful career for several years in various businesses before being forced to retire because of lupus. She met and married Larry Seay in Westminster, Calif.; later divorced.
Survivors include her brother, Donald (Joan); nieces, Kim (Ty) Loyola and Tess (Kent) Thompson, all of Salt Lake City; her aunt, Betty (Ted) Bryan of Helper; and numerous cousins. She had a particularly close relationship with her cousin, Jill Cox of Salt Lake, and with her Orangeville neighbor, LaVon Reid Timothy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her aunt, Thelma (John) Cox; her uncle, Harold (Fern) Jewkes; her aunt, Dee (Art) Waterman; and her uncle, Ted (Artell) Jewkes.
At her request, she was cremated and will be buried next to her parents in the Orangeville City Cemetery. Memorial services will be at a later date.
Lamar Powell
FERRON – Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Lamar Smoot Powell, age 79, passed away Dec. 1, 2006 at his home in Ferron.
Our beloved father was called home from the loving arms that surrounded him here and was welcomed home by his eternal sweetheart and family.
He was born April 27, 1927 to John and Mary Ann Powell. Married Reva Banner on April 15, 1950 in Elko, Nev.; and later was sealed as a family in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Dec. 3, 1963 for all eternity.
Dad was an active member of United Mine Workers Local 6363 having retired from US Fuel Co.
Dad loved hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and his favorite was teasing and tickling his grandchildren and spending time with his family.
Dad served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many positions in the church, including bishop of the Kearns 9th LDS Ward and bishop of the Hiawatha LDS Ward. Later moved to Ferron, as a member of the Ferron Creek LDS Ward.
Lamar is survived by his three children, Kent (Kathy) Powell, Sharron (Sam) Smith and Shannan (Clifford) Newsome. He had 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann King and Marcella Powell. Preceded in death by his loving wife Reva B. Powell; his daughter, Patricia Evans; his grandson, Michael Newsome; his parents; five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Ferron LDS Stake Center, 555 South 400 West. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to the services in Ferron. Burial, Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
Charles Ray Fausett
PRICE – Charles Ray Fausett, “Charley Ray,” 80, diedDec. 2, 2006 of natural causes surrounded by his family.
He will be dearly missed.
He was born June 3, 1926 to Charles A. and Kisten M. Fausett, in Price.
He married Pearl LaNae Martin on Oct. 9, 1949 in Elko, Nev. Together, they raised five children. Pearl passed away in 1987.
He attended schools in Price until he was 17, when he joined the U.S. Navy. He served proudly through World War Two and Korea.
Ray drove trucks for many different companies, eventually traveling to all the states, and also worked as a coal miner, gasoline station operator, and a nightclub owner.
He was a member of the LDS Church, American Legion and the United Mine Workers of America.
He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, golfing and, most of all, his family.
He is survived by his children, Mickey (Griff) Thayn, Wellington; Jerry, Price; Karen, Rock Springs, Wyo.; and Rusty (Kerstine), Price; sisters, Faye Vuksinick, Price, and Wayne Smith, Price; very special friend, Norma Steele; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; daughter, Susan; his sisters, Elloise, Jenny, Pearl, Ila and Ruth; brothers, George and Jess. He is now reunited with them all.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Price LDS Stake Center, 150 South 500 East. A viewing will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to services. Burial, Price City Cemetery.
Tom Robinson
PRICE – Our loving father, grandfather, friend and brother, Thomas Jefferson Robinson, age 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness on Nov. 30, 2006.
He was born Jan. 11, 1924 in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., to Joseph Melvin and Naomia Parris Robinson. Married Bethel Ciscell on Aug. 28, 1944 in Carleston, Mo. She passed away on Nov. 24, 2006.
Tom was a member of the First Baptist Church. Dad was employed at Kaiser Steel in Sunnyside for 36 years and retired in 1986. He was a member of UMWA Local 9958. He also worked for Bunnell Dodge for many years.
Dad loved to go fishing and work in his garden. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, spending time with his wife, children and family, watching western movies, eating peanuts and drinking Pepsi.
He was a generous man and, if you needed help, you could count on Dad. He will be dearly missed by his family and a community of friends.
Survived by his sons, Gary, Richard, Dan (Vicky) Robinson, all of Price; Joe (Denise) Robinson, Spring Glen; daughters, Theda Ussery, Helper; Sue (Earl) Cullum, Lawrence; Marilyn Robinson, Price; 31 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill and Sidney Robinson; sister, Peggy Giovingo, all of Rockford, Ill. Preceded in death by his loving wife; parents; daughter, Catherine Stone; brothers, John, Marvin, James and Ervin; sisters, Dora Lee Pemberton, Carrie Smith, Cora Tarrence and Clara Robinson.

Anne Bonacci
HELPER – Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Anne Montoro Bonacci, age 91, died Nov. 24, 2006 in Price.
She was born Aug. 9, 1915 in Hiawatha to James and Rose Bonacci Montoro. Married Victor Ralph Bonacci on Dec. 4, 1940 in Helper. He died in 1954.
Anne was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Longtime resident of Helper.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survived by daughter, Barbara (John) Flynn, Coombs, British Columbia; four grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Gerberg, Daniel Gerberg, Angela Flynn, Shawna Flynn; and sister, Laura Rogers.

Editha Mower
HELPER/GRANTS PASS, Ore. – Former Utah resident Editha “Teddy” Floriene Mower, 86, of Grants Pass, Ore., died Nov. 26, 2006.
She was born June 4, 1920 in Thistle. She graduated from Carbon High School and later received her RN from Holy Cross School of Nursing.
She devoted 40 years of service to the nursing profession in Utah, where she lived until two and one-half years ago when she moved to Grants Pass, Ore., to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
Editha enjoyed attending her church. She also enjoyed planting a summer flower garden as well as collecting a variety of knickknacks, which she proudly displayed in her home.
Her hobbies included reading, golfing, playing bridge, Tai Chi and line dancing. She especially loved sports of any kind.
Survived by sons, Phillip Greer (Ruby) of Grants Pass, Ore.; Chris Joe Sisson of Flora Vista, N.M.; and daughter, Jessie Albrecht (Bill) of Cour d’ Alene, Idaho; grandchildren, Summer Greer of San Francisco, Calif.; and Brent Albrecht of Cour d’ Alene, Idaho.
She requested that her ashes be scattered in the surrounding hills of her childhood home in Helper. Arrangements under the direction of Stephens Family Chapel.
