Auto class fifth at Weber

Emery High Auto Class finished fifth overall at this year’s Weber State auto competition. Fourteen students took the written test to help the team qualify for the hands-on portion of the competition. Andy Sitterud and Joe Bennett represented the school in the hands-on portion of the competition with Booker Erickson as the alternate.
Andy and Joe score 73 out of a possible 100 points to take fifth overall; the winning school scored 76.1. Andy and Joe won Snap-On tool carts for their efforts. Weber competition has more than 600 students and 50-60 schools participating from a six state area.
Emery’s team placed second in their first contest and now fifth, their efforts are showing . “We have the Ford/AAA contest and the SUU contest yet to compete in and hope their enthusiasm keeps up,” said Mike Kava.
