State newspaper honors local athletes

David Justice, senior guard was second team all-state.

As you would expect when teams play well, players at the three area high schools were represented in the Deseret News all-state selection process. With both the boys and girls teams from Emery, Green River and Carbon High Schools making the playoffs this season, many players went on to be recognized as outstanding players.
Leading the pack was 3-A MVP Camille Fehlberg as she led the Spartans to the state championship.
Here are the results of the selection process.
3-A girls MVP Camille Fehlberg-Emery;
3-A second team Rachel Rasmussen-Emery;
3-A third team Meagan Pearson-Emery; Megan Garvin, Carbon;
3-A honorable mention ShiAnne Allred-Emery; Jodi Robertson-Emery; Erika Potts-Carbon; Patricia Smith-Carbon;
3-A boys second team David Justice-Emery;
1-A girls first team Adriana Cordova-Green River;
1-A second team Heidi Vetere, Green River;
1-A honorable mention Charlene Vetere;
1-A boys second team Kaleb Fail, Green River Brent Johnson, Green River Kaden Robertson, Green River.
Academic all-state selections included Camille Fehlberg, Emery and Shalae Cox, Emery in basketball and Kesler Tanner, Emery in wrestling. More awards are expected for the local athletes as the Salt Lake Tribune makes their selections.
