William D. Fossat
HELPER-William David Fossat, age 78, passed away April 17, 2007 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
He was born April 29, 1928 in Helper, Utah to Louis and Catherine Castagno Fossat.
William was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper and longtime resident of Carbon County. He graduated from Carbon High School and later attended Carbon College. Served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp in Germany from 1950 to 1952. Upon discharge from the Army, he attended Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif. After graduation from Brooks Institute of Photography, he returned to Helper, where he opened a photographic studio doing commercial and portrait photography from 1955 to 1990.
Upon retirement in 1990, he and his brother began taking scenic photographs in various locations throughout Utah. They began a gallery of color photographs, including a group of photographs of rock art panels which were donated to the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Art Museum in Price.
William was preceded in death by twin brothers, Albert and Alfred; brothers, Michael, Ralph, Victor; and sisters, Irene Hislop and Pauline Tsangaris.
Funeral Mass was held Fri., April 20, 2007 at 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church, with a Vigil service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Friends were welcomed to join the family at St. Anthony’s Friday morning at 9 a.m. Committal service was at Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper or to the American Cancer Society.
Marva Bruno “Mom”
PRICE – Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, Marva Rae Drolc Bruno, age 79, passed away peacefully April 17, 2007, at her daughter’s home while surrounded by her loving family.
Marva was born Sept. 19, 1927 in Vernal to Frank Jr. and Martha Timothy Drolc. Lived in Craig, Colo., for 23 years. She moved to Price in 1950. Married Dominic Bruno Dec. 1, 1950 in Price.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Price Eighth Ward. She served as a Primary teacher, Relief Society visiting teacher, and Sunday school secretary. She was a Pink Lady volunteer at Castleview Hospital and member of the Sunflower Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She received her temple endowments on Sept. 19, 1986 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Mom was an especially kind and compassionate person and was loved by everyone who knew her. She easily made friends and never said an unkind word of anyone.
She is survived by three sons, Arthur D. (Tonya) Bruno, Larry P. (Janice) Bruno, both of Price; and Martin R. (Eileen) Bruno, Helper; three daughters, Jeanece (Steve) Cowan, Price; Barbara (Kelly) McKean, Salt Lake City; and Marianne (Rick) Hanson, Price; brother, Ronald (Georgie) Drolc, Richfield; sister, Mary Lou (Jim) Terry, Craig, Colo.; brothers-in-law, Pete L. Bruno, Price; and James Paletta, Helper; sister-in-law, Susan Friend, Westminster, Calif.; special friend, Allie Dee Pierce, Price; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Also survived by many stepsisters Preceded in death by husband, Dominic; parents; brother Robert, and sister-in-law, Myrna Drolc; sister, Betty Paletta; sisters-in-law, Doris Bruno and Mary Ross; brother-in-law, Daniel Bruno; and niece, Doris Marx.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Rocky Mountain Hospice, especially to Jessie, Bonnie and Deborah.
Funeral service was held Fri., April 20, 11 a.m., Price Eighth Ward, 995 East 700 North, Price, under the direction of Fausett Mortuary. Family was at Fausett’s, Thursday evening, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Rocky Mountain Hospice, 60 East 100 North, Price, UT 84501.
J. Blaine Tuttle
ORANGEVILLE- J. Blaine Tuttle, 83, passed away April 21, 2007 in Orangeville, Utah. He was born Nov. 27, 1923 in Kenilworth, Utah to Milton Melrose and Essie Mable Guymon Tuttle. He married Geneva Snow in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov. 26, 1943.
Blaine loved the small town atmosphere and was proud of the fact that he spent his entire life in Orangeville. He was an active member of the LDS church serving in many callings. His most cherished calling was serving the people he loves as bishop for 13 years. He worked as a professional truck driver for 30 plus years for Deseret Transportation, during this time he received an award for driving 2.5 million miles accident free. He also enjoyed working hand in hand with his twin brother Bland on their farm. He was proud of his gardening skills. He enjoyed time spent on the back hoe and his association with Cottonwood Creek Irrigation Co.
He is survived by his wife, and children; Richard (Joyce) Tuttle, Medford, Ore.; Janet (Kelly) Jones Longmont, Colo.; Cathy (Kirk) Olsen, Sandy, Utah; Roger, Orangeville, Utah; Cathy Tuttle Hardee (Brent), Castle Dale, Utah; Alan (Danielle), St. Louis, Mo.; and Jennifer, Price, Utah. 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Roy Dean and Edwin, sons; Lowell and Jeffrey, grandchildren; Tracey Lyn and Katrina.
Funeral Services will be held Fri., April 27, at the Orangeville LDS Chapel at 11 a.m. A viewing will take place Thurs., April 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and one hour prior to services. Burial will take place at the Orangeville City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
