Kaden Robertson putts for Green River.

Green River High School, along with region foes Whitehorse and Monticello, have played golf four times this season and are still looking for that ideal day to play golf. With blustery weather being the rule rather than the exception, the Pirates are confident that they can overtake region leader Whitehorse for the region crown.
Monticello started the season by winning the first two tournaments but has finished third in the last two meets as the other two schools have improved their play. Monticello started the year by shooting a 469 team score and then shot a 452 last week. Whitehorse started off with a 472 and then shot a 411 last week for a 61 shot improvement. Green River started the season with a 507 team score and then shot a 426 team score last week for an 81 shot improvement.
Senior Kaden Robertson leads Green River. Kaden is the returning region champion and the favorite to do it again this year. Kaden has an average of 80 in the tournaments, which is pretty remarkable considering the weather and wind conditions played in so far.
Returning sophomores Marvin Arnold and Earl Nelson have the next two leading averages at 111 and 115. Adrian Lucero has a 133 average and newcomers Brittany Bastian and Tracy Engleman round out the top five golfers. Brittany has a 145 average and Tracy has a 151 average.
The region golf tournament will be held May 7 with the State tournament held the following week.
