Miss Carbon County, Danielle Olsen, Miss Huntington, Chelsea Killian and Miss Emery, Kristine Johansen at the Little Miss Tea in Orem.

After a year’s worth of preparation the time has come for Miss Utah week. Miss Huntington, Chelsea Killian and Miss Emery, Kristine Johansen will spend the week in Salt Lake vying for the Miss Utah crown.
The past year has been a whirlwind of activities for the Miss Utah contestants.
They have been attending training meetings and workshops and doing service projects. The contestants visited Hill Air Force Base and a tea was held for the contestants and their Little Miss escorts.
Each of the contestants have chosen a social platform which they have worked on throughout the year.
Chelsea’s Platform is “Service to Others” She said, “Being from a small town has motivated me enough, that with Miss Utah as my vehicle, I can reach out to those youth who typically miss opportunities to serve.

Little Miss Emery Allyson Woolsey will accompany Miss Emery to the Miss Utah competition.

“I have served for many years in the planning stages of the Huntington Heritage Days Celebration where I have had the opportunity to serve our community making our local celebration a wonderful success. I have also served on several benefit” planning committee’s where I have been able to help those in need,” said Chelsea.
Kristine’s platform is physical fitness and good health for youth. She has been involved in going to schools and teaching the children about fitness and the importance of good health and taking care of yourself.
Chelsea’s talent night is June 26. She will be performing a vocal solo, “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” from the Broadway musical “Jesus Christ Super Star.”
Kristine will do a ballet for her talent on Thursday.
A special part of the Miss Utah production is the Little Miss portion. Each contestant has a Little Miss who accompanies her on stage and escorts her during the evening wear competition.

Miss Huntington Chelsea Killian will be accompanied by Tristen Wayman who is Little Miss Huntington and won this honor at last years pageant.
Kristine Johansen will be accompanied by Allyson Woolsey who was recently crowned Little Miss Emery at a pageant held by Johansen and the Miss Emery pageant committee.
There were 11 contestants who tried out for the privilege of going to Miss Utah as a Little Miss. Miss Utah 2007 will be held at the Capitol Theater on June 24-29.
The contestants spend the week practicing for their production number, talent, evening wear and swimsuit competition.
They also participate in an interview with the judges. They are kept busy with television appearances and they participate in a service project. The preliminary rounds will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the final night and the awarding of Miss Utah on Friday.
The Miss Huntington pageant will be on July 2 to crown a new Miss Huntington and the Miss Emery pageant will be on July 14.
Both pageants are still looking for contestants. Pageant winners will be awarded scholarship money to help with college expenses.
