Letter to the Editor: When choosing our leader

By CRAIG ANDERSON St George

Inspirational, creative, imaginative. Possessing a desire to manifest goodness of mankind and help obtain their needs. These are only a few of the favorable characteristics that come to mind when thinking of qualities that would make a good leader.
Leadership requires wisdom. These qualities greatly contribute to ones personality and when a person possesses them along with a great desire to perform a leadership roll to help mankind become a more proficient functioning member of his or her society, a more perfect Union is created.
This idealism is not only a “Dream” it can become reality by electing the leader that is so much needed, now, for this great Nation’s future. It’s time for a change my friends. Our lives can be better.
Listening to one particular candidate speak and hear him exonerate his intentions to “change” this Nation, one gets a wonderful feeling inside himself. Electricity is in the air. This person stirs the embers and the fire flames. Real hope is again instilled in the Nation’s soul.
We as caring, concerned citizens of the Nation all want our voices to be heard, our individual needs to be addressed and above all want to become a knowledgeable contributing part on our society. Who can we trust as leader of this Nation to manage and address these concerns? History has documented only a couple of Presidents proving to be worthy of granting these preferences to their people. Are we, finally, going to be represented by such a great leader? There is a presence of “change” in the air. Can we, citizens of the greatest Nation ever, be blessed enough, as needy people, to experience this euphoria?
“It’s not about gender vs. gender, black vs. white, party vs. party or religion vs. religion. Its about now vs. then.” It’s not “this against that” or especially “liberal against conservative”. It’s about helping those in need, meeting their personal needs and strengthening the catalyst of the Nation.
A change from the proverbial partisan politics is a very refreshing concept. There’s only one character in this campaign for the United States Presidency one can trust to bring about the change, so much needed. I see only one candidate that has the competency to revitalize this Nation. One person capable of motivating each one of us to personally get involved in revising and restructuring governmental programs to actually benefit our needs, strip special interest groups of their power and direct funding to programs beneficial to our citizens, and be representative of programs devised to benefit and enhance the neglected populous. What? Make education affordable and obtainable to all of our children? It’s only the “tip of the iceberg” to give a $4,000 tax credit for college bound youth. The education system needs to structure its curriculum to educate the individual student. It’s a long process and I think there is one potential leader to get things started and moving in a progressive manner.
Give attention to the qualities of a competent leader. Choose a very capable person to bring out the productive traits of the individuals who will be participating team players in a complicated game of revitalizing our great country.
