Letter to the Editor: Advice to high school rodeo participants

By PAUL L. YOUNG St. George

Editor,
To the high school students being involved in the high school rodeo events, the finals are coming up. Remeber, try hard, run hard, and you must always remember, success is not final, losing is not fatal. It is courage to continue that counts.
Remember, irregardless of how good or how poorly your horse performs, there is that possibility you were not leading him correctly. So when you finish and come out of the gate, give him or her a pat on the rump, called tender touching. It goes a long way with a horse. You can get more out of a horse with a curry comb than you can with a quirt.
