WELLINGTON-Betty Lena Prettyman, age 79, passed away Nov.11, 2008 in Wellington. She was born April 19, 1929, in Richfield, Utah, to Emil Martin and Ila Jean Elder Hansen. She married Bud Ernest Prettyman, April 19, 1946 in Price, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on March 3, 1962.
Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty and Bud served two missions for the LDS church in Gila, N.M., and a Temple mission at the Manti LDS Temple, and in many other callings in the LDS church.
Betty is survived by her children: Stella Johnson of Colorado, John “Jack” Prettyman of Wellington, Ernest (Doris) Prettyman of Helper, David (Kristy) Prettyman of Wellington, Jody Mortensen of Wellington, and James (Charla) Prettyman of Emery; 23 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Bud Ernest Prettyman, died Nov. 19, 2003, parents; brother, Perry Hansen; sister, Jean Wardell; and granddaughter, Shayla Reeves.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Wellington LDS Stake Center (935 East Main). A viewing was Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South) Price, and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment was in the Wellington City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
