The Ferron City Christmas Celebration


The Ferron City Christmas Celebration will be held Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Ferron Elementary School. There willl be Christmas caroling for all in attendance. All kids 11 years old and under will receive a goodie bag from Santa. Bring your camera and get pictures with Santa. This year’s celebration is sponsored by the Ferron Youth Council.

Painting Fund Raiser


Jon and Chris Thornham are the founders of the innovative philanthropic organization Painting With Purpose. Painting With Purpose sells digital copies of paintings created by children with special needs to raise money for charity. They are searching America to find children with special needs who would like to paint a picture and help raise money for their cause. Huntington City Turkey Trot


Huntington City’s annual turkey trot run will be held Thanksgiving morning at 9 a.m. All who wish to participate should meet at the City Park on Center Street. The entry fee is $1. There will be a children’s race and a 5K. The winner will receive a turkey.

Historical Society Christmas Party


The Emery County Historical Society Christmas Party will be held Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. in the Museum of the San Rafael. Bring a plate of your favorite goodies to share. There will be music and stories to go with the goodies.

UPandL Carbon Emery Alumni Christmas Party


The UPandL Carbon Emery Alumni Christmas Party will be held on Dec. 11. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. Paid reservations must be made by Dec. 6. Call Barbara Wilson @435-472-5182.

Castle Dale Daughters of Utah Pioneers Christmas Party


Castle Dale Daughters of Utah Pioneers Christmas party will be Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. in the senior citizens center in Castle Dale. Bring a friend and enjoy a luncheon and a good time.

BACA Community Christmas


All children must be accompanied by an adult to the BACA Community Christmas event at Kraync Motor Company on 98 South 300 East in Price on Dec. 6 from 1-4 p.m. All children will get a free picture with Santa, a bag of candy and a toy.

Picturing America


Ferron Library, in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities and American Library Association, is sponsoring “Picturing America” for the month of November. Through this program laminated posters of American art work are brought to libraries nationwide. Come into the library and gain a deeper appreciation of our country’s history and character through its art.

The Emery County Sheriff’s Office And The Emery County School District


A free seminar presented by the Emery County Sheriff’s Office and the Emery County School District will feature Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, United states army (ret.) speaking on preparing for school attacks, preventing school violence, school lock down and critical incident stress on Dec. 15 from 4-8 p.m. in the Emery high school auditorium, 955 North Center, Castle Dale. Lt. Col. Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, soldier, and expert in the field of human aggression and the roots of violence and crime. His books include the Pulitzer Prize nominated book on killing, as well as on combat, and stop teaching our kids to kill. Training will be conducted on the Emery High School Campus. Orangeville Christmas


On Dec. 6 in the Orangeville Community Center there will be judging of chili and soup at 4 p.m. Bring one gallon of your soup or chili to be judged and it will be served at the public dinner. Sign up for the cookoff prior to Dec. 5 at city hall. The chili and soup will be served at 5 p.m. At 4 p.m. for the children there will be a craft making a Christmas ornament.The park lights will be at 6:30 p.m. and the Emery High Choir will sing. There will be a special visitor along with carolers, a fire and hot chocolate in the park.
