SUNNYSIDE-Thurston L. Bittick, age 84, passed away Feb. 22, 2009 in Price while surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 17, 1925 in Newark, Ark. to Walker E. and Clara Roberts Bittick.
Married Charlotte May, Sept. 11, 1946 in Reno, Nev.
Thurston’s top priority was his family. He was a kind and sharing man to his friends, animals and strangers. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and camping. He was a resident of Sunnyside since 1951 and a dedicated employee of Kaiser Steel. Thurston loved working and he was always using various remedies to improve his health and well-being. He was an active member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Survived by his wife, Charlotte Bittick, Sunnyside; daughter, Linda (Douglas) Johnstun, Price; son, Danny (Jodi) Bittick, Medford, Ore.; grandchildren, Jodie Scartezina, Edward (Lindsay) Scartezina, Jason Bittick, Christopher Bittick, Tracy Stevenson, BJ (Tia) Johnstun; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Isabella, Olivia, and Xander.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Eythel Davis, and brother, Jolly Bittick.
Graveside service, Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, 2 p.m., Cliffview Cemetery. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price Thursday from 1-1:40 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home.
