ROY-Vernon N. Sitterud passed away Feb. 17, 2009 at home with his family by his side.
Vernon was born Jan. 1, 1935 in Orangeville, Utah, to Carl E. and Revella Nelson Sitterud. He served in the army from 1957-1959. He worked at the Defense Ogden Depot for 37 years. He was a member of the LDS church where he served many positions.
He married Sheila Joy Rich which was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He is survived by one special grandson, Brody M. Sitterud; stepchildren, Debbie Gordon (Craig), John Rosas (Kami), Curt Rosas; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four sisters, Teola Gordon, Dorithea Ames, Hellen Colard, Patricia World; one brother, David E. Sitterud.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sheila, and sons, Michael, Damien and Nathan, brothers; Dallas and Douglas, sisters; Enid and Gladys.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Roy 15th and 30th Ward Building, Roy. Friends and family called on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, and at the church Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Roy City Cemetary, 5200 South 2300 West, Roy.
