The Green River Pirate track team traveled to Millard High School on April 18, for what turned out to be a great day for the track team. Each team member either posted a personal record or qualified for the State Tournament to be held on May 15 and 16 at the BYU track. Lindsey Spadafora qualified for State in the long jump with a jump of 15 feet, 4.5 inches. Sarah Swalberg qualified in the javelin with a throw of 114 feet, 11 inches and Megan Hatt qualified in the high jump with a height of 4 feet 8 inches.
Holden Marshall competed in the javelin, Adam Steuer competed in the 1600 M run and Josh Butler competed in both the 800 M and 400 M runs.
Though well into the season, for a few, this track meet was their first or second opportunity to compete. What the track team lacks in numbers they make up for in heart and dedication.
