EAST CARBON-Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Elsie Darlene Cox Alexander, age 80, passed away peacefully May 3, 2009 at her home in East Carbon.
Born May 24, 1928 in McKune, Kan. to Ernest and Anna Williams Cox.
Married Earl Alexander Sept. 22, 1953 in Las Vegas, Nev. He died Oct. 14, 1990.
She moved to Colorado at age 8 and spent most of her life in Colorado and Utah where she was a foster mother to 65 children. She loved to volunteer as the sunshine lady for Castle Country Care Center, and friendly caller for senior citizens. Elsie was a member of Oral Roberts Ministries. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by the lights of her life sons, Larry and Kevin Alexander; three granddaughters; one great granddaughter; and sister, Lois Stubbs.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and two sisters.
Memorial graveside, Thursday, May 7, 2009, 1 p.m. Valley View Cemetery, Sunnyside.
