PRICE-Elizabeth (Bernice) Roden, passed away in her home in Price on July 18, 2009 at the age of 85, after suffering from a long illness for several years.
She was born July 17, 1924 in Scofield, Utah to John H. and Isabella Anderson Wilson.
Married Donald J. Roden on Jan. 3, 1943 in Standardville, Utah; he passed away on March 17, 1970.
Bernice was a member of the Catholic Church. She was a longtime resident of Helper before moving to Price. She was a member and staunch supporter of the VFW, American Legion, and over the years she was very dedicated to many charities that she faithfully donated to.
She had a love of reading, gardening and was very proud of the numerous trophies for her 55 Ford Truck in the Outlaw Car Show in Helper. Bernice was most proud of her family and many friends whom she enjoyed spending time with.
Survived by her son and daughter, Ron Roden, Castle Dale, Kay (Gene) Paletta, Henderson, Nev.; six grandchildren, Ron, Don and Jackie Roden, all of Salt Lake, Geno and Bryan Paletta, both of Henderson, Nev., and Rod Paletta, St. George; 14 great-grandchildren and many, many friends, two of which she spent many years with, Moneta Carter and Bunny Wiswell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Donald; brother, Jackie Wilson; and sister, Shirley Evans.
She will be sorely missed as she was loved so dearly. May she now rest in peace.
Funeral service, Saturday, July 25, 2009, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Vigil service Friday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Price City Cemetery, Price.
