PRICE-Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Donna Mae Leonard age 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in Elmo, Utah, after a courageous fight with cancer.
Donna was born Sept. 12, 1932 to Clifford Albert and Elva Mae Bingham Woodruff in Roosevelt, Utah. She married Arthur Chris Bolotas on Sept. 3, 1950 in Price, Utah. Together they had eight children Christine, Georgiann, Stephanie, Linda Lee, Cynthia, Alexis, Debbie and Arthur. She later married Ray H.J. Leonard June 1973 in Elko Nev.; together they had one child, Vicki.
Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, going for joyrides and reading. Donna loved to sing and play the piano. She was a majorette for Carbon High School and had fond memories of playing softball for Mitchell’s Mummies. She was a graduate of CEU’s first nursing program and she enjoyed serving others through home health care.
She is survived by her children; Christine (Terry) Shaw of Cleveland, Georgiann Cardwell of Emery, Stephanie (Dave) Karcich, of Price, Alexis (Randy) Gruninger of Kaysville, Utah, Debbie (Allen) Staker of Elmo, Arthur (Terri) Bolotas of Orangeville, and Vicki Spear (Geno Atencio) of Aztec N.M., step-children; Lana (Ken) Kofford of Castle Dale, Pat (Charlotte) Leonard of Price, Teri (Tom) McElprang of Huntington, and Jim (Debbie) Shenk of Las Vegas, 40 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, sisters; Karla (Earl) Gunderson of East Carbon, Elva Ree (Lou) Bosco of Roseville, Calif., Shanna (Dick) Robb of Rochester, Minn., brothers; Cliff (Louise) Woodruff of Price and Ken (Katie) Woodruff of Sevierville, Tenn.
Preceded in death by parents, daughters; Linda Lee Bolotas, Cynthia Bolotas, grandsons; Justin Neil Shurtz and Joseph Chris Abrams
Funeral services were Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Elmo LDS Chapel (199 East Main). A viewing was held Saturday at 1:45-2:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment was in the Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to the American Cancer Society in Donna’s name.
