Our precious husband, dad, grandpa and brother, passed away July 24, 2009 in West Valley, Utah.
Born July 4, 1946 in Price, Utah to Teresa Cordy Velasquez Guzman and her husband Castello B Buzman. Graduated Carbon High in 1965, attended the College of Eastern Utah where he received his auto mechanics certification. Served in the US Army from 1967-1969, with a brief tour in Vietnam with the 25th ID where he was a Purple Heart recipient.
He married Carmen Palacios Sept. 16, 1969 in Elko, Nev. Their marriage was later blessed in the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Price, Utah in December 1971. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight.
He worked for the Utah Railroad for 10 years and later worked for US Fuel as a miner and served as a Certified EMT. He loved hunting, camping, and fishing with his family. As a member of the Great Salt Lake HOG Chapter, he enjoyed riding his Harley and his last long ride was to Canada.
His favorite things were junk food, mostly bubble gum and Snickers. He also enjoyed watching the 49ers, the Jazz, Utah Utes, and the highlight of his life was attending his only grandson’s sport activities, which he never missed. He checked an item off his bucket list in February 2009 when he attended a NASCAR Race with his son.
Survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carmen of West Valley; daughter Lydia Randall (Rex) of West Jordan; son Frank (Kiko) of West Valley; grandson James Guzman; siblings, Lora Guzman, Willie (Dorothy) Guzman, Paul (Niki) Guzman, Lisa (Richard) Waln, Beverly (Neil) Peacock, Yolanda Hiatt, Susie (Jimmy) West, Cindy (Travis) Allen; numerous step-brother/sisters; father-in-law Manuel Palacios; nieces and nephews; and aunt and uncles. Preceded in death by his mother Cordy, sister Lenor and Josephine, brother Mike, step-mother Sarah Bell Guzman and mother-in-law Lydia Palacios.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. also at the church where a vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Interment to follow at West Jordan City Cemetery.
Viejo, we will miss you very much, Jamers. See you all on the other side, Me.
