Three on Three Volleyball

2009 Football


Emery High School Football started fall practice July 27 at the high school football field. Head Coach Jim Jones welcomes all students in grades 9-12 to participate. There are three teams, varsity, junior varsity and sophomore. Proper attire this week is T-shirts and shorts. Practice will start at 5 p.m. on Monday and will go every day through Friday.

Emery High “Class of 1969” 40th Reunion


The graduating class of 1969 will be holding their 40th year class reunion on Aug. 8 at the Senior Citizen Center in Castle Dale (160 East 100 North) The reunion bigins at 1 p.m. If you have family who graduated that year who have not been contacted, let them know. Notice about the Castle Valley Pageant


The Castle Valley Pageant will not be held this year. The pageant will be held again in 2010. The Church Pageant Committe elected to only have the pageant every other year.

Help burn victim


In lieu of flowers or gifts, an account has been set-up at America First Credit Union under the name of Jake Marland. Donations will help with Jake’s expenses during the coming months, and a portion will be given to the Burn Trauma Intensive Care Unit in the University of Utah Hospital.

Know Before You Go


ATV permit test will be held as soon as there are enough participants. You must be between the ages of 8-16 and you must pre-register at the Emry County Recreation office located at 75 South 400 East in Castle Dale. Cost for the test is $10. Miss Peach Days


All girls residing in Clawson, Emery and Ferron are welcome to participate in the Peach Days Pageant. Applications can be picked up at the Ferron City Hall and need to be turned back in by Aug. 6.

Castle Valley Pageant Commemoration Program.


A commemoration program in honor of the late Montell Seely will be held on Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. at the pageant site. There will be music and entertainment. For more information call 687-2403 or 820-4187.

Chili Cookoff

FSA County Comittee Nominations Start June 15


Farmer and rancher candidate nominations began June 15 for local Farm Service Agency county committees. The nomination period continues through Aug. 3, with elections taking place this fall. All producers are encouraged to participate in the county election process by nominating candidates. To be eligible to serve on an FSA county committee, a person must participate or cooperate in a program administrated by FSA, be eligible to vote in a county committee election and reside in the local administrative area in which the person is a candidate. Millsite State Park Tagged Fish Event


Utah’s first-ever tagged trout event will start June 1 and run through July 31. You can make money catching tagged fish at Millsite Reservoir. There will be 20 fish each worth $50, 10 fish worth $100 and two worth $250, for a total of $2,500. All you have to do is get out and fish. No contest fee required.
